Meeting the prof

{Section officer's office}

"Please take a look at these files sir."

"No matter if you look at the cases individually or from their geographical regions or where they went missing, I still feel that there is a connection between all the cases." Jason reported.

"We just have to investigate it till we reach a breaking point."

"But there is still not enough evidence for an official search." The section officer replied. "But we should still continue keeping an eye on it."

{Ghost villa}

Jenny decided that sitting on the couch was not going to get her anywhere.

She stood up and headed to the huge rows of books.

Just when she picked an interesting book that had caught her eye,the grandfather's clock struck 10 with a deafening clang, giving her a huge fright.

She dropped the book when she was startled, and just when she was about to pick it back up, a well dressed man appeared at the top of the stairwell

"Good morning, I am here to meet Professor Bo regarding the interview for the translation job." Jenny informed.

The man didn't say anything, and strolled into the room with unusual coolness, as if the spookiness of the house was not enough.

She quickly put back the book she took, just as he said, "Hello, I am Professor Bo. Nice to meet you"

"What would you like to drink? Coffee, tea or red wine?"

"Tea is fine."

Professor Bo asked, " I've heard from Professor Zhang at your university, that you are one of his most outstanding students. This time, I am looking for a translator that can translate results into Chinese. Of course, since this is an interview, we can't avoid asking questions."

"Here are some research results for you to translate as a trial."

Professor Bo handed over a black file.

As she opened it up, a few photos caught her eye. There were various people that were mauled and disfigured so badly that their facial features were unrecognisable.

"Sorry. I forgot to take out the accompanying pictures that came with it. The victims of this murder autopsy were murdered and sexually abused.

Jenny stifled her feelings of disgust, and replied, "Yes, their hands and feet were tied together. Is there a dictionary for the translation?"

Professor Bo's eyes drifted up towards the fifth shelf.

Jenny finished the translation in a rather short time, under the watchful eyes of Professor Bo.

As she handed over her translation to Professor Bo, Jason sent a text over to her.

"Have you finished the interview", the reply read.

Quickly, she replied and put her phone back onto the table.

Professor Bo, being the constantly observant one, asked, " Your boyfriend?"

Jenny could only dodge the question with an awkward smile.

" It's going to be the job hunting season soon. Jenny, have you found a job yet?"

"Yes i have."

Just as their conversation went on, another mysterious figure appeared on the stairwell, yet chose to be concealed within the shadows.

"By the way Jenny, my job is also just a part time interest for me. Care to guess what my real job is?"

"At firsthand, I would feel that you are a surgeon."

"Am I not one?"

Jenny continued, "As you have a strong alcoholic smell and have washed your hands many times during this interview itself, thus indicates your sense of cleanliness. Also, all the pictures that came with the autopsy translation further justified your position. That is why many people would think you are a surgeon."

"However, when you were making the tea just now, you spilled some tea leaves, which showed you do not have steady hands. Also, you made two kinds of tea, yet switched the teapot lids by accident. This showed you are not detailed."

Professor Bo nodded his approval at her analytical skills.

Jenny finished off by saying, "Through the conversation, you were very open minded, thus you should have a job that requires creativity. Also, you have fast typing hands, and thus your job should be more of a computer software developer rather than a surgeon."

Professor Bo clapped after her explanation, and said "You surprise me. I didn't think you would actually guess it right. Okay, I have decided to hire you as the translator."

Jenny then replied with a smile, "Thank you, but shouldn't you ask the real Professor Bo for his own opinion?"

"How did you know that I'm not the real Professor?"

Jenny pointed to an open magazine behind him and replied cheekily, "Because the picture of the real Professor Bo is out in the open!"

Really bamboozled, 'Professor Bo' picked up the magazine.

Up in the level above, the man hidden in the shadows had seen enough. He retreated back to the third level of the house.

"All right. Jenny, let me introduce myself again. My name is Fu Ziyu. You can call me Mr Fu. I work for Professor Bo."

" Nice to meet you too Mr Fu."

Outside the villa, Jason was already waiting beside his car, for Jenny to exit the house.

"Didn't you say you were too busy with work?"

"We've hit a plateau and our team leader told us not to get attached to it." "How was the interview?"

"Well, you could say I got the job!"

With that, the car pulled away from the villa.
