After watching Sofi leave the room, I regained my composure and asked Doctor Everett what was going on, who the woman was, why she had scolded Sofi, and where I was. He calmed me down and said, "No need to be formal, Miss. You're my master. You can call me Everett." However, I didn't agree to this, saying, "You're like my grandpa; why would I call you by your name?"
Doctor Everett looked shocked, seemingly puzzled by my response. "How could someone change so much after losing their memory?" he murmured. I noticed his confusion and spoke up, "Okay, I'll call you Dr. Gramps." Without saying a word, he nodded in agreement.
"Dr. Gramps, can you explain what's going on here? Who was she, and what is this place?" I asked, but before he could respond, someone knocked on the door. "Knock knock," the sound echoed. I replied, "Please come in." A young girl, around Sofi's age, entered and told me to get ready and come downstairs; the head of the house was asking for my presence.
I was already overwhelmed with surprises, and this new development left me lost in thought. Doctor Everett called out to me, "Miss...?" I responded, "Yes, Dr. Gramps?" He asked the young girl to leave, saying we'd be there soon. The girl obeyed, leaving us alone.
Doctor Everett turned to me and whispered, "Don't tell anyone about your lost memory, and try to be normal as much as possible. I'll explain everything to you after we're done downstairs." His words were laced with concern, and he added, "No matter who tries to offend you, please endure it. This time, I might not be able to save you."
I was perplexed by his words, and more questions flooded my mind. Who was I supposed to not offend? Why couldn't Dr. Gramps save me? What had this body's owner done? I was getting more puzzle pieces to solve, but I couldn't figure out the bigger picture.
"Miss... oh, sorry, Dr. Gramps, I was thinking," I said, apologizing for my distraction. Doctor Everett's face reflected his confusion again, and he murmured, "How can someone change so much?" I asked if he'd said something, but he simply shook his head and said, "Let's not waste more time. We need to get going."
He told me to get ready, and I quickly dressed in a hurry. When I emerged, Dr. Gramps was waiting for me, lost in thought. I called out to him, "Dr. Gramps, let's get going. I'm ready." He nodded, and we headed downstairs together.
As we walked, I admired the antique pieces around me, following Dr. Gramps quietly. The mystery surrounding my life was deepening, and I was determined to uncover the truth.
