Episode 4

Helena arrived at the huge building where the Mello office was located. She got out of the ride-sharing car and smiled at the driver, who looked at her with disdain. That was it... her plan was going well.

At the reception desk, when she introduced herself, she received a look from the young receptionist, which seemed more like an X-ray evaluation. Helena could tell that the girl wanted to say something, but she kept it to herself, only handing over her badge.

"Ms. Velasquez, welcome to the Melo group. Your badge is also the key card to access the executive floor. Take the golden-doored elevator, it will take you directly to the correct floor."

"Thank you." Helena smiled.

Being called 'Ms.' at 20 was good. It meant that her disguise was working very well. She walked quickly and confidently to the indicated elevator.

Felipe Mello arrived early at his office, often before his secretary Francisca. He liked the peace that reigned before everyone arrived, but to his surprise, he had visitors.

Bruno Satte and Diego Malta were already waiting for him at the private elevator door, carrying cups of coffee, smiling like two children waiting for their birthday present.

"Don't even try... we're coming with you," Bruno said.

"Felipe, we would never let you have fun alone," Diego smiled.

"Do you think this is an amusement park? This is my job, damn it! I don't mess around with employees," Felipe made it clear to his idle friends. "Don't you two kids have anything to do today?"

"We took the morning off to support you. After all, you're our brother-friend," Diego mocked.

The three friends left the elevator and walked silently through the small room until they entered Felipe's office. It was spacious, containing a break room, a private bathroom, but in the corner there was a small desk, which would be the workplace of Suellen's friend, right in front of his desk.

"And wouldn't you know it, our friend will be working while looking at the beauty's legs," Diego mocked. "I can already imagine her crossing her legs…"

"Shut your mouth, Diego. My workplace is sacred, although looking at me won't hurt anyone."

The three were sitting, all anxious for the arrival of Felipe's "personal secretary." They seemed like high school students with their jokes. Bruno would even suggest an exorbitant bet.

"I can tolerate the curiosity of you two, I'm curious too," he said, then concluded sharply. "But that doesn't give you the right to bet on a girl who has no idea what we're doing."

"Right... right... I always forget that you're the 'good guy' of the group," Bruno didn't miss the opportunity to criticize his friend.

Soon the intercom rings on his desk, it was the secretary Francisca, alerting him about the arrival of the new hire.

"Send her in," Felipe said, then looked at his friends. "Behave yourselves. No foolishness with my secretary."

The door was opened gently and Diego even choked on his coffee. He was paralyzed and Felipe was trying to assimilate that vision.

His new secretary was wearing huge glasses, with lenses that looked like the bottom of a bottle and did not match the woman's face at all. She wore a round brown skirt that reached her feet, a yellow long-sleeved blouse, as well as the band in her black hair, she held her bag firmly in front of her body in a protective way.

"Good morning, Mr. Mello... gentlemen…"

Her voice gave a slight waver, but soon it was firm, showing her strength. She had a slight smile on her face, which gave the impression that she was hiding something.

Faced with the scene in front of her, Helena had confirmation that her disguise was good. Those three handsome men looked like children caught doing something naughty.

"Well... good morning... Felipe, I'm leaving, I have a hearing this morning. Let's go Diego, we have work."

The two left quickly, without touching their coffee, without casting another glance at Helena, but she could notice that they were trying hard to hold back their laughter.

Perfect!

Helena closed the door behind her and, turning to her boss, adjusted the huge glasses on her face.

"We can start, sir."

Felipe was still standing, trying to understand where the voluptuous and provocative blonde that his mind had created had gone. Certainly it was not that ugly woman wearing clothes that even his grandmother would not wear. Swallowing hard, he closed his eyes and thought of Suellen and the promise he had made...

"Helena Velasquez, correct?" he asked, hoping that that woman was in the wrong place.

"Yes, I am the one indicated by Suellen."

Felipe closed his eyes, that was it.

A promise given could not be taken back, after all, she was there to work, it did not matter that she was so out of the conventional standards. What mattered was her work capacity and that he would have to evaluate.

"Well... your job is simple," Felipe cleared his throat and turned to the glass window behind his desk. "You have to arrive before me, organize my room. I don't like anyone else touching my things, besides you, only Francisca enters here. Always knock on the door and wait for authorization to enter. I like to work in silence, no unnecessary conversations."

"Yes, Mr. Mello."

Felipe had the impression of hearing a slight tone of mockery in that woman's voice, but he preferred not to dwell too much on the subject.

"The desk is yours…"

Helena contained her smile and went to the indicated desk, opened the drawers, looked at the laptop on the desk. She received the information from Francisca through her headset and set about organizing her boss's weekly schedule. It seemed like an easy job, easier than the disguised looks she received from the "powerful" Felipe Melo, she had a mocking smile, she knew she looked horrible in that clothes and with those glasses...

She didn't want her boss to have thoughts about her, she wanted to stay away from romances and men who thought with their lower heads. She felt safe like that. Before that day, she had researched everything she could about that man. She knew about his tastes, his friends, his family...

She was ready to keep him away and at the same time be efficient. After all, her salary there would be much higher than at the cafeteria. It would improve her savings. She did what he asked, kept quiet and in the room, only the sound of the keys could be heard while she typed. In the manual agenda, she organized the whole week, using colored pens and fluorescent markers, she loved it.
