Episode 4 Jealousy Hits It hard

Ava couldn't believe he had to explain everything to her friends, all of them was genuinely happy to hear the good news from her. "Ohh..my..gosh!" says Ling and Meili in unison, both 19. Ava's classmate and best friends.

Day after day Zhang Yi became a lot busier because of his graduation thesis. Ava as a freshman still has more of her free time to spent on some activities outside school. Despite Zhang Yi's busy days he never failed to spend time with Ava.

3 weeks before graduation.

"Ava, Zhang Yi isn't here yet?" asked Meili. "Uhmm.. yes. I wonder if he's still on class" Ava said. "Well that's the first time he's late to fetch you." said Meili. Ava decided to wait a couple more minutes outside their department building after refusing Ling and Meili's invitation to go home together. But Zhang Yi hasn't arrived yet. She decided to go to the Engineering department to check on him, and hesitantly entered the building noticing that most of the students are on their way home now. She dialed his number while searching all of his known classrooms one by one. On the fourth floor, she heard the familiar ring tone coming from the classroom at the end of the hallway, but was hung up on. She knew it was his, and wondered why did he hang up on her.

Even with the thought, Ava was relieved knowing that Zhang Yi hasn't left the building yet. On her way to the classroom, she heard Zhang Yi and a female's voice conversing.

"What's wrong? I'm only telling the truth. She's a mere freshman dating a senior like you, anyone can tell that your relationship obviously won't work." said the female's voice. "Stop, - calling her a mere freshman." Ava heard him say in calm voice. "Am I not right? After you graduated from this college, she has to remain here for 3 more years. And what happens next? You will have less time to spend with each other. Just like what happened to us back on our Junior year, the same reason why we had to broke up." Ava was standing next to the door hearing everything.. without being noticed. "Had.. To?" she thought. Ava knew the person is not just any woman, but his ex. Steadfast, she was unable to move an inch. "Give me my phone back." said Zhang Yi, and snatched his phone back. he was about to come out the room when the woman followed hastily grabbing Zhangyi Yi's arms, and kissed him.

Ava completely froze up seeing them touched lips. Zhang Yi immediately pushed back the woman giving her a look of anger and about to walk out. He then noticed Ava standing still. "A-ava..? " So many thoughts she had in mind that her only response is to stay quiet. "Ava.. Let me explain." said Zhang Yi. He walked fast to reach Ava and held her hand. "Hello there, freshman." said the woman, mocking. Ava is not the type of woman to stay still after being provoked. She let go of Zhang Yi's hand and walk towards the woman "Hello there.. Senior." upon greeting back, a solid slap landed on the woman's cheek. Both the woman and Zhang Yi were astounded. none of them was expecting the current situation. "Don't be mad at me for waking you up. You seemed out of yourself so I had to do that." Ava is not usually aggressive but when triggered, she could be the worst enemy. "Ho-how dare you slap me?!" the woman attempted to slap her in return, but was held back by Zhang Yi. Ava didn't even try to dodge her nor blink an eye. "Stop you two." he said setting them apart. "What do mean stop?! That woman slapped me first!" she said on a loud voice. "You can't blame her, you started it" said Zhang Yi. "You don't need to explain to her, let's just get out of here." said Ava and turned away. "If you heard me earlier! you must know that dating a senior after graduation is almost impossible for a freshman like you." said the woman, but got ignored by Ava leaving her pissed to death.

Zhang Yi silently follows her who's walking a few steps ahead. He knew she was somewhat mad at him, but couldn't get to ask her. That was the first time he saw her loose her patience, but instead of asking, he was amazed of how Ava reacted, not because of how hard she slapped the woman's face. But how calm she is despite of what she just saw. "Ava.." he called her. Ava stopped and faced him.

"What's the name of your girlfriend?" she asked out of nowhere. Zhang Yi was surprised to see how serious her face is for asking such a silly question. "Her name is Ava Yang." he answered. "Do you love her?" she asked right after. Zhang Yi bend a little lower leveling her height "Very much." he replied sweetly giving her a nose to nose. Ava softened, her dark mood slowly brightens. For a moment she was jealous and furious at the same time, But he was able to calm her down. Though Zhang Yi gave her assurance, she just can't get off her mind what the woman had said. Mind was occupied with questions like, - (what happens after he graduates? Is it that hard to stay in a relationship after? Would he eventually break up with me if we can no longer spend more time together?) after some thoughts, she held Zhang Yi's hand and led the way.

While walking Zhang Yi find it strange. she smiled, but it didn't reached her eyes. Out of curiosity he decided to finally asked. "Ava, aren't you going to ask me about her?" she stopped and gave out a sigh. "I know she's your ex. I heard most of her claims, asking you about her will be a waste of time, and I don't want today to end that our topic is her." she answered. She was right, he thought. But Zhang Yi just can't let her be in agony. "She's my ex. We dated for a few months during our Junior years and we happened to partner up for a group thesis preffered by our professor.." he explained. Ava did not stop him and proceeded with his explanation. "About the reason why we broke up is a long story, but to make it short. She denied me when I was on my lowest situation. Unlike you she did not stay, instead she left me. making time apart as her excuse." now that I'm back to where I should be, she started to become aggressive as how you saw it specially when she heard that I'm already dating you." he continued. Ava took out a handkerchief on her pocket and wiped his lips. "That woman.. How dare she put her lips on you.." she said pouting. He thought, of how lucky he is for having the most gentle and understanding girlfriend he ever loved, and gave her the sweetest apology kiss on her lips.
