Episode 4 - The Syntax Paradox

“Wait,” Max grabbed the hand

of Lisa. Lisa was shocked, that Max suddenly grabs her hand.

“What?” Lisa removed her

hands from Max’s territory and looked at Max.

“Where is the real Pizza

delivery boy?” Max asked with a cold tone.

“Well, I had given him a

throat message and he is now sleeping on the ground,” Lisa smirked at Max.

“You mean he’s unconscious now?” Max asked

seriously.

“Where am I?” A half-*****

boy asked. In a flash, Lisa looked behind and Max peeked.

“You are dead and now you

are inside the hell.” Lisa took off her cap and placed it on the boy’s head.

And Lisa got on the roof instantly and she disappeared a few seconds later.

Max then looked at the boy,

Max was drying his hair after a bath but it wasn’t dried fully. And when Lisa

was gone then Max realized that his head was still wet. But without giving Max

a second, some cold wind passed him, that made him sneeze.

“Lisa, where did you go?”

Aidan asked when he saw Lisa entered the chamber.

“What about Mily?” Lisa

jumped on the soft sofa.

“She’s better now. Bruises

have been recovered but her mental health is worse.” Aidan told her. “So where

have you been? And what’s with that pizza delivery outfit?” Aidan looked at

Lisa with a confusing face.

“Well, this outfit is the

most comfortable outfit ever!” Lisa leaned on the sofa, yawning.

“So what about the Max

Marino?” Aidan sat beside Lisa.

“It’s all your fault!” Lisa

slightly pushed him. “I am so embarrassed and guilty that he was insulted like

that. We used to be best friends when we were kids.” Lisa’s words felt lost to

Aidan. He frowned and asked,

“What’s your relation with

Max Marino?” Aidan asked curiously.

“His father Simon and My

father Declan used to be best friends. Max is 2 years older than me. Some

people say that Max was the first person, who had held me right after my birth.

Therefore, we were best friends, as usual, we were inseparable. We used to go

to school every day, play, eat, drink, even we had a sleepover at each other’s

places. But one day, the Marino family was nowhere to be found. I searched

everywhere for him, but he wasn’t there. Then when I asked Dad about this

matter. Dad said that they are going to the Republic of Fallen-Tree. They

weren’t in Hillinger. That’s when my heart broke, I thought that Max could’ve

told me something about it. But, then I realized that he could have never known

that he was moving with his parents, so I can’t blame him properly. And after

years when McNeill Clan was progressing, Dad was diagnosed with liver cancer,

the whole world was introduced by a new tech company, WraithXTech, which was

founded by Max Marino. I was very happy for Max at that time. I even tried to

visit him, but when Dad knew it, he told me not to visit him, and also that Max

might hate me. I was very confused at Dad’s words. But Dad was already passed

away when I was about to ask him, why did he say that. But then I discovered

that He is a witness and you guys had insulted him. After all years, I didn’t

want our meet to be like this. And that is so-so much embarrassing.” Lisa

sighed after she finished her big speech.

“So, How are you going to

pay him back?” Aidan asked.

“I am going to his slave for

6 months,” Lisa said with a jolly tone. After hearing Lisa’s answer, Aidan scowled

at her.

“What?!” Aidan grabbed

Lisa’s shoulders and shook her. “You’re going to be his slave?!”

“S-stop it, Aidan!” Lisa

felt dizzy when Aidan released her.

“I think it’s the best way

to apologize. And it’ll be fun. After all, I will be able to spend some time

with him.” Lisa smiled unconsciously.

“You seemed to like that,

you’re deeply in love with him,” Aidan said in a teasing voice.

“Well, I am not in love with

him. Like I meant, intimately. But also love him as my brother.” Lisa sighed

again. “But, turns out that He hates me now. He wasn’t slightly even happy

seeing me again. He even murmured that I am a selfish bitch.” Lisa felt

hopeless.

*BANG!* *BANG!* A deafening sound came from the 3rd-floor bar of the Headquarter. Hearing the sound Lisa

sat straight; her big eyes turned bigger. Aidan’s face wasn’t an exception, and he

was also shocked. In a flash, she opened the door and rushed down.

“What the?!” Aidan came after Lisa.

“What happened?!” Lisa stormed inside the bar. There was a crowd inside the bar.

“Boss, A person is murdered!” Chloe said as she pulled out her gun from her pocket.

“Who is he?” Lisa got inside the crowd as everyone gave her space. And soon she noticed a dead body which is

sitting on a tool.

“Gaston Hocker, He was a strong assassin.” Violet stood beside Lisa. After Violet’s words, Lisa noticed

a noted inside the vest of the dead body. She took it and gave it a read.

“The Revolt Has Aroused –

Syntax Paradox” The note gave Lisa goosebumps.

“Syntax Paradox?” Lisa

whispered as she held the note. And suddenly her sixth sense started working.

She looked forward and saw a man in black on the balcony reeling on the

reflection of the glass art of cobras in front of her. Then she turned back in

a flash and she rushed to get that man. She jumped on the second building’s

roof. And the man was surprisingly fast than her. And luckily she kicked on the

*** of the man in a black hoodie. The man fell on the roof. But due to bad

fate, Lisa lost that man as a kick on the butt wasn’t enough for him to slow down.

Lisa gave up and started taking heavy breaths.

‘I should’ve shot him. SHIT! Alas! I have no gun’ Lisa cursed herself.
