I back away, watching his every step. I'm trapped. How can I stand against a man of his size, especially under the full moon's influence?
"Please, Isaac. Let me go."
He's enjoying watching my desperation. We're like a cat and a mouse, and I'm the prey. My back hits the wall, and in one swift motion he pins his arms on either side of me.
I beg again for him to let me leave, but the person standing before me is no longer just Isaac — his wolf is surfacing too.
"I can't, little wolf. I want you, and I'll satisfy that desire tonight."
Isaac begins running his hands over me while I struggle to break free. I see a smile on his lips. He likes what he sees.
My blood runs hot with rage. Why do I have to go through this? Haven't I suffered enough?
He tries to find my lips for a kiss. I bite him — hard. I taste blood in my mouth and meet his deadly stare.
"So you prefer it rough, little wolf."
Consumed by rage, Isaac tears my dress open, leaving my breasts exposed. I try to cover myself, but he's faster. He grabs me and throws me across the table, knocking several objects to the floor.
He tries to press his mouth to my body, but I act fast. I grab a heavy object and slam it into him with full force. Blood pours down his face.
"You bitch — you hit me!"
His wolf's voice is raw and powerful. A slap lands across my face and the taste of blood grows stronger in my mouth. I'm dizzy for a few seconds. The moment my senses return, he's already moving in again.
I won't make this easy for him. This time I put everything I have into my legs and shove him hard enough to clear some space. I get up from the table and run for the door.
He's slowed — disoriented from the blow. His face is soaked in blood. I'm sure I've left a scar on the Alpha's forehead.
I turn the key and wrench the door open. Without stopping to think, I shift into my wolf form.
"Now what do I do?"
A howl cuts through the night. You don't need exceptional hearing to know that a wolf is on the hunt — and I'm the prey.
I plunge into the trees, running as fast as I can. Almost immediately I hear other paws behind me. It's not just Isaac. The woods are full of male wolves in heat.
I run until my legs scream at me, but then something crashes into me from the side and sends me flying.
I land hard. One of my paws is injured, and I look up to find a circle of wolves watching me, ready to strike.
I force myself back up, barely, and hold my ground. Since I can't communicate by telepathy, I have no way of knowing exactly what they want — they simply close in around me and pace, waiting for Isaac.
Within seconds I see him approaching, shifting back to human form.
"Did you really think it would be that easy? Like I said — you're mine, Sara."
I refuse to accept that fate. I try to force my way through the wolves, but they growl and snap at me.
Damn wolves.
"Come on, Sara. Cooperate. Otherwise it'll have to happen the hard way, and then I'll have to punish you."
I growl back at him in answer, and I catch a flash of satisfaction in that wolf's eyes.
"Get her."
The wolves surge forward, and I meet them head-on. I will not submit to the humiliation of being just another one of the Alpha's toys.
I don't know where the strength came from, or how, but I stand and fight every last one of those massive wolves. I know full well I'm no match for them — I'm an easy target — and they land blow after violent blow on me.
Isaac just watches.
I'm already badly hurt from the wolves' strikes. A few more minutes and I'm on the ground, my body surrendering to exhaustion. The wolves hold back, waiting for me to beg for mercy.
I shift back to human form — battered, drenched in blood, caked with dirt from rolling across the ground.
Isaac walks toward me with the measured stride of a man who has already won. He crouches down and lifts my face with the tips of his fingers.
