Scared?

Lucy turned around to have a look. But there was no one behind her.She thought that it must be an illusion.Lucy fastened her pace of walking but the feeling of being watched never left her until she reached her home.She locked the door quickly behind her .Suddenly her phone rang up ,it was Sanaya,

" Hey Girl,Did you reach home safely?"

Lucy tried to come down and replied with her usual and most convincing tone ,

"Yes ,don't worry about that. I am home already."

She looked at the screen of her mobile phone ,it showed 7:35 p.m. Lucy convinced herself that there was no one behind her and even if there was someone, they will never bother her again and then went upstairs to have a bath .

" After all, it was a tiring day !"

Lucy said to herself ,putting her phone on her bedstand.

For Lucy, a hot shower is enough to wash away all the bad feelings at once. Because of this she was often considered as an emotionless person. (But that exactly fits her personality after all ) so the thought just left her mind as soon as the warm droplets of water touched her soft skin. Although she ignored the experience on the lane, she still decided to go to bed early.

The next day Lucy was quietly reading a book lying down on the couch. After turning over a lot of pages she finally considered to get some sleep and took off her glasses .She hugged the pillow and soon enough the tiredness put her into deep sleep . She was having a nice dream about her book characters, drifting off in the cloudy sky.... When she suddenly woke up at the very loud barking of a dog . Lucy tried to ignore it and get back to sleep, but soon enough the dog started barking even louder. Disturbed by the continuous barking, Lucy stood up and picked up her glasses. Then she went to the window and pulled up the cartains to see what was going going on . She found out that it was her neighbours dog barking at her garden. Soon enough the owner lady visited her to take back the dog she said ,

" You see dear ,I am really sorry! I really want to apologize for Bruno's behaviour .But he never did something like this before ...I don't know why exactly he is suddenly being so aggressive out of blue."

Lucy replied politely," No aunty ,you don't need to apologize .After all it's Bruno. He might have seen something or may have been bothered by something."

The lady nodded thoughtfully and took back the dog. Lucy also decided to finish the book she had been reading earlier. The title reads 'The darkest nightmare."

While reading the book she didn't even notice that the clock already stuck six in the evening. She called her parents and the casual talk ended within a few minutes .After that she walked to the kitchen .

Suddenly Lucy realised that the dog was still barking from Mrs Groans' house .That continuou barking of the dog somehow made her uncomfortable. After all a dog would not bark continuously for nothing. See peeked through the small window in her kitchen to see if there was anything wrong with her neighbours. But everything seemed fine except for the dog.

She took her headphones and put them on while working in the kitchen .The melodious tune relaxed her mind for a while . She took the cup of coffee and bowl full of noodles and left the kitchen.

Lucy expected it to not happen again .But for her surprise , she noticed that the dog kept barking at the same time and the same way, for a few following days. Even Mrs Groans, the owner lady was confused about its sudden change in behaviour.

One night Lucy woke up at the sudden barking of the dog ,Bruno. It was close to her room .She was a little scared and so she covered herself in the warm blanket to get some sleep .After a while the dog stopped barking as if it was chased away .Lucy eventually fell asleep and drifted back to the world of fairies in her dreams.

But what made her more sad was the following morning. Mrs Groans was at her door and she said that Bruno was badly hurt with some sort of sharp  weapon . Lucy noticed blood all over her garden . She was shaken up ,

"Oh  God !who on earth can be so cruel? "

The lady told her that she would take the dog  to the VET  and she would not be home for a while. Lucy was really upset to see the hurt dog suffering in pain and covered in dried blood and dust .It almost made her cry . Although  the dog kept barking all day out of nowhere, but still she liked the dog .Bruno was indeed a loyal and brave dog .The thought of the cruel person who hurt the dog was even more scary. She thought that it probably ran towards her garden when it was hurt . Lucy skipped her breakfast thinking about the poor dog.

At noon Lucy decided to go to the market to buy some goods. But as soon as she stepped out of her house the feeling of being watched kept hunting her. She turned back multiple times and pretended to be alright.Lucy practically run to the store and asked the shop girl for the things while observing the streets and people passing by. All of a sudden she felt a hand on her shoulder which made her jump.
