Episode 5

Cristal remained kneeling on the floor, unable to calm her racing heart, her omega writhing with ecstasy, enjoying the scent that surrounded her.

Why?... Why had the alpha king marked her with his scent?

Was this some kind of revenge? Did he want to drive her crazy? Because he had succeeded.

The heat swirling inside her was unbearable. She felt suffocated, her hands clenched her knees. She rose from the floor, drawing strength from where she had none when she heard the door open.

"Miss, come with me."

Cristal raised her face and looked at the man a few steps away from her. She tried to focus her sight, but everything seemed blurry. She felt incapable of making her body react. She was being overwhelmed by her instincts.

The man a few steps away from her opened his eyes in surprise. The woman's eyes shone in a violet color. It was evident that she was being controlled by her omega. The scent that predominated in the place was too strong.

The omega was entering heat.

The man staggered backward and covered his nose, trying to control his instincts—I... I'll bring someone to help you, omega.

The needy moan that escaped Cristal's lips made the man run frantically from the room. He locked the doors behind him and looked at the guards outside.

"No one can enter the king's chambers. Not even him... Understand?"

The men outside looked at each other confused and nodded. Lion was the king's right hand. His orders were almost as important as those of the king himself.

Lion ran through the corridors to the infirmary. Finding an omega to help him was difficult. Most of the palace workers were alphas. The king could not stand the scent of omegas, he loathed them with his soul. And it even seemed strange to him that the king agreed to be healed by the omega with a floral scent.

Lion ran with the omega by his side towards the king's chambers. The growl that echoed in the palace scared him, he ran faster, leaving the omega behind, and then he saw him.

The king was standing in front of the doors, growling at the guards who would not let him in.

"My lord. Leader Lion said that no one could enter."

"Open the damn doors now if you don't want to die."

The guard staggered, unable to refuse his king's order.

"No!!" Lion's cry came too late, because the door had already been opened.

The scent that escaped from that room had elicited a collective growl from all the alphas outside the room.

The omega who came from the infirmary ran towards the room, knowing what would happen. He stopped at the door, trembling, trying to calm the situation.

"Alpha... I will help the omega, you should... you should stay outside."

Everyone knew how much the alpha loathed omegas. But that look... it wasn't the look of someone who loathed.

It was the look of a predator.

The king could not take his eyes off the woman who was kneeling on the floor, off the dilated blue eyes that looked at him with need. Sweat beaded on her pale skin. It was the most erotic image his eyes had ever witnessed. And then he felt the call.

"Alpha..."

His alpha growled inside him. He wanted to go to her. He wanted to calm her. He wanted to claim her. He was losing his senses for the little omega who was writhing on the floor of his hall, needy.

"Omega..."

He didn't have time to take a step towards her when the door was slammed in his face. A furious growl escaped his lips. At that moment, Lion approached him, standing in his way.

"Alpha, you have to react. You're letting your instincts govern you, the nurse will help her regain reason. Meanwhile... it's better if we stay away."

The king looked at him. He knew he was right. He couldn't lose his reason for the unknown omega. It was unheard of. He was the Alpha King, he had impeccable control over his instincts.

But then, what the hell was it about that omega that had managed to completely surpass him?

The king nodded, trying to control his inner Alpha. He turned around, abandoning the place. Lion sighed tiredly. Trying to maintain control had cost him too much, the omega's scent had called to him. Trying to control his instincts had been a very difficult task.

Lion spent the afternoon standing at the door waiting, until nightfall when the door was opened.

"All done, Leader Lion, the omega's fever has gone down and she has fallen asleep."
