Episode 5

Orhan took Asya away, leaving Mehmet and Yasemin alone.

Yasemin: Well, I'm listening.

Mehmet: Well, the reason my daughter doesn't speak is because my wife was murdered in front of her a year ago. I take her to the psychologist every week and spend a lot of time with her, but I hadn't managed to make her smile even once until today when she did with your sister.

We always go to parks, but when the children see her just playing with her dolls, they simply walked away from her. Instead, your sister looked for a way to integrate her, and for me, it's almost a miracle.

The doctors say that her health is fine and that physically she doesn't have any damage, and I understand that she went through a traumatic experience, but she didn't cry, scream, or get angry about her mother's death, and the doctor believes that she suffered an emotional block that doesn't allow her to express herself at all.

From how you have raised Asya, I have no doubt that you are the right one to take care of her.

You will have a good salary, you will live in my house with Asya so you can take care of your sister at the same time as my daughter. As you know, Ayse still hasn't started school and if it continues like this, it is very possible that she will end up taking classes from home until she can speak.

Yasemin: I can't promise that your daughter will speak because I am not a pedagogical psychologist or anything like that, I am just an older sister taking care of her little sister trying to give her the best.

Mehmet: Well, treat Ayse like another sister or daughter, I have no problems as long as my daughter feels comfortable with you and you are not bad to her.

Yasemin: I wouldn't be bad to a girl who could be my sister, but I want you to keep several things in mind.

Mehmet: Tell me what they are.

Yasemin: I am going to accept the job, but I want you to know that if I am going to take care of your daughter, I am going to do it as if she were my sister and I will defend her as such. My sister will sleep in my room, just like we do here, I don't want to separate from her.

For how long will I be her nanny?

Mehmet: For about a year, while her official nanny recovers because she had an accident with her ankle and had to have surgery and was prescribed a lot of rest, but she will continue living in the house.

Yasemin: Okay, I also want you to keep in mind that I am still studying and that I have to go to university to take my exams.

Mehmet: Okay, the days you have to go to university, let me know so that Bahar can stay with both girls and if possible, I can also stay with my daughter and Asya.

Yasemin: I appreciate it very much, when would I start working for you?

Mehmet: From tomorrow.

Yasemin: It's just that I already paid 2 months in advance here, as I lost my job, I wanted to secure our roof.

Mehmet: Don't worry about that, tell the lady to give those two months free to the next person who needs it.

Tomorrow a car will come for you and after showing you the house and everything, you will sign your contract for a year. After the year is over, if you want to continue working or our paths have to separate, you will have enough money for you to live well with your little sister.

Do you agree?

Yasemin thought about it for a few seconds…

Yasemin: I accept.

Mehmet: Once Orhan is gone with Asya, I'll leave so you can start packing.

Yasemin: I appreciate it very much.

Mehmet: The one you should thank is your sister, she helped you get the job.

But, can I ask a personal question?

Yasemin: Well, depending on the question, I will see if I answer it.

Mehmet: How did you manage to take care of your sister legally?

Yasemin: I didn't, I just left home, I am of legal age so it was easy to get a job and Asya was in a daycare that allowed me to work knowing she was fine.

I haven't lost track of my mother and she is still exactly as we left her two years ago, if she regenerates it is possible that she will return, but while she doesn't and since Asya doesn't lack anything, let's say we are under the radar, but as soon as I have money I am going to hire a lawyer to give me custody.

Mehmet: Well, let's see if with time I can help you so that happens.

Silence fell in the room, there was nothing else to talk about and so that it wouldn't be awkward Yasemin spoke again.

Yasemin: Excuse me sir, but what do you work as?

Mehmet: I am the owner of a multinational company.

Yasemin: Wow, that must be a lot of work, it's impressive that you can still dedicate time to your daughter.

Mehmet: Before my wife passed away, I used to work hard during the weekdays to dedicate the weekends to them, they were both my pride and my greatest loves. When my Derya died, I felt like my world was going to waste and that I wasn't going to be able to get out of there, but I realized that I still had Ayse and that she wouldn't want me to detach from the fruit of our love, so I dedicated myself body and soul to make her speak and see the happy and energetic girl she always was again.

Yasemin: I will do my best to help Ayse little by little, she will return to being the girl you remember, although there is also the fact that without her mother it is very difficult for her to be the same again.

Mehmet: Thank you, it is the first time I have trusted a stranger so please don't disappoint me.

Yasemin: Don't worry, you want the best for your daughter and I want the best for my sister and in those terms we can understand each other well.

Minutes later a happy Asya arrived with two boxes of pizza and two tubs of ice cream.

Yasemin: Asya, why is there so much food?

Asya: One pizza is for us and the other for Mehmet to eat with Ayse along with the ice cream.

She told me she liked it a lot.

Mehmet: What do you mean she told you?

Asya: Well, I asked her what she liked and I was saying several things and we both like pizza with ice cream.

I just had to say yes or no and that's it.

Yasemin: You speak for both of you sister.

Asya: If she doesn't speak, I will do it for her.

Those words stirred feelings in Mehmet despite being a girl she said things that not even an adult could say because of the responsibility that these bring with them, but she said it without more with much emotion.

Mehmet: Don't worry when I get home I will eat these delicacies with Ayse, you will see her again tomorrow.

Asya: Really?

Mehmet: Yes, see you tomorrow little one.

After that interaction, Mehmet left, leaving the sisters alone and when he arrived at his house his daughter greeted him with a hug.

Mehmet: Look, your new friend sent you this.

Do you want to eat it with me?

And the girl nodded with excitement and a big smile.

Did you like spending time with Asya?

Ayse nodded again to her father's questions so they ate together what she had brought and he felt happy to know that his daughter could get out of where she is, even if she is no longer the same.
