Chapter 1: Shattered Normalcy

The morning sunlight spilled lazily through the curtains, but Sienna barely noticed. Her stomach twisted, her head ached, and a strange heaviness pressed on her chest. Something felt… wrong. Something she couldn’t ignore any longer.

The past few days had been off—nausea that wouldn’t fade, sudden fatigue, an emptiness that gnawed at her from within. She had tried to brush it off, blaming late-night studying or stress, but deep down, she already knew: her life was about to change, and not in small ways.

Hands trembling, she reached for the small test kit tucked in the bathroom cabinet. Carefully, almost reverently, she followed the instructions. One line. Then… two lines.

Her breath hitched. Pregnant. At sixteen. The word echoed in her mind, bouncing against the walls of her skull, shattering every plan she had ever made. School, friends, exams, her dreams—all seemed fragile, like glass ready to crumble with the slightest touch. Panic clawed at her chest. She pressed her palms against her face, trying to stop the tears that threatened to fall. How could she face her parents? Her friends? And Damien—he had been so careful, so convincing… would he vanish, leaving her alone to bear this impossible weight?

Her phone buzzed on the nightstand. A message from her best friend, Rhea: “Hey, ready for school?” Sienna froze, staring at the screen. Could she reply normally? Could she pretend nothing had happened? The thought made her stomach churn.

Before she could answer, a soft knock came at her door. “Sienna, breakfast is ready!” Her mother’s voice was warm, oblivious. How could she face her mother without letting the truth slip?

A sudden noise outside drew her gaze—a car door slamming, footsteps crunching on gravel. Probably nothing. But a shiver ran down her spine. And then she saw him.

A tall figure leaning casually against the tree outside, eyes fixed on her window. Damien.

Her pulse spiked. Why was he here? How long had he been watching? Fear and fascination collided inside her, twisting together in a dangerous knot. She should have felt anger. Or annoyance. Maybe fear. But instead… she felt something else, something darker, something thrilling.

His dark eyes met hers for the briefest moment, and it was enough to make her breath catch. There was something about him—possessive, intense, almost predatory. Sienna’s heart raced, torn between the danger she sensed and the pull she couldn’t resist. Damien turned away casually, as if nothing had happened, but the air around her seemed charged, electric.

Sinking back onto her bed, Sienna gripped the test kit like a lifeline. Her mind spun with questions, fears, and forbidden curiosity. One thing was clear: nothing would ever be the same again.

The world outside went on with indifferent normalcy—birds chirping, neighbors moving about, sunlight streaming—but inside her room, inside her chest, a storm had begun. A storm of desire, obsession, and danger. A storm with Damien at its center.
