Sienna had barely recovered from the shock of her morning when she stepped into the bustling school hallway. Her mind was a whirlwind of fear, confusion, and unspoken questions. She kept her eyes down, praying no one would notice the tremor in her hands or the emptiness in her chest.

But someone did.

He was leaning casually against a locker a few steps away, as if he had been waiting for her. Damien. His dark eyes locked onto hers the instant she looked up, and for a moment, the hallway around her seemed to disappear. Every movement he made radiated control, confidence, and that dangerous charm that made Sienna’s heart pound.

She tried to look away, but his gaze was magnetic, holding her in place. A subtle smirk curved his lips, one that sent a confusing mix of thrill and fear spiraling through her. Why did he have to be so… intoxicating? So terrifyingly intense?

“You look… distracted,” he said, stepping closer. His voice was low, smooth, and impossible to ignore. The closeness of him made Sienna’s pulse spike. She should have felt fear, should have demanded he leave, but instead, she felt… caught. Trapped in a web she didn’t even know she had entered.

“I… I’m fine,” she managed, though her voice was barely audible.

Damien tilted his head, studying her like he could see straight through her. “Sienna,” he murmured, almost a warning, “I can tell when something’s wrong. You can’t hide from me.”

Her stomach tightened. How did he know? Was it just instinct, or had he been watching her more closely than she realized? A shiver ran down her spine—not entirely unpleasant.

The bell rang, cutting through the tension like a blade. Students rushed to their classes, but Damien didn’t move. Instead, he leaned slightly closer, lowering his voice even more. “I want you to be careful today. People… people talk, and some of them might not have good intentions.”

Sienna swallowed hard, heart racing. His words were protective, yes, but there was something possessive lurking beneath them, a silent ownership that made her feel both safe and alarmingly exposed.

“I… I can handle it,” she whispered, trying to keep her composure.

“Can you?” His gaze sharpened. “Because I can’t promise I’ll let anyone—anyone—hurt you. Not while I’m around.”

Her breath caught. She knew she should feel scared, even angry, but instead a strange warmth spread through her chest. His obsession was clear, his attention overwhelming—but undeniably, intoxicating.

Before she could respond, a loud laugh rang out from across the hallway. A group of students had spotted her talking to Damien and were pointing. Gossip, curiosity, maybe envy. Sienna felt her face flush, her secret trembling dangerously close to exposure.

Damien’s hand brushed hers as he stepped closer, subtle, yet intentional. “Ignore them,” he murmured. His eyes held hers, commanding, possessive. “No one touches what belongs to me.”

Sienna froze, heart pounding. She wanted to pull away, to run, to escape this intoxicating danger—but she couldn’t. Not entirely. The pull he had on her was too strong, too consuming.

As the bell rang again, signaling the end of the break, Damien let his gaze linger just a moment longer, then disappeared into the crowd, leaving Sienna trembling, confused, and utterly captivated.

And in that moment, she knew one terrifying, thrilling truth: her life with Damien had only just begun—and she was already caught in his dangerous obsession.
