When Our Eyes Met
It was an ordinary morning for Supriya. She woke up early, worked out, and then went to wake her younger brother. Somewhere between getting ready and packing her bag, she almost forgot that today was a big day for her she was going to be announced as the next House Captain of her school. Standing in front of the mirror, she straightened her hair, applied a little blush, and took a deep breath. At exactly 7:11 a.m., Supriya stepped out of the house. Her hair was in an unfinished bun, one hand trying to fix it while the other struggled to manage her bicycle, the morning felt calm until she noticed a cat crossing the road, she got distracted for a second and the next moment, her bicycle swerved straight into the woods everything happened too fast the impact knocked her out. When Supriya slowly regained consciousness, her head felt light and her vision blurred as someone helped her back onto her feet,
“Better watch your steps,” a guy said calmly. “I know mornings get a bit cloudy, but still, she wasn’t wearing her glasses, so she couldn’t see his face clearly. The only thing she noticed was an infinity-shaped tattoo on his right hand,“Yeah, I guess,” she replied softly. “But thank you so much for helping me,before she could say anything else, he walked away, when she reached school, seeing her best friend Sofia waiting for her instantly made her feel lighter. She had been really stressed about the ceremony,“Anyways,” Sofia said, smiling, “my house captain—you look pretty today. By the way, what’s that scar on your hand?“I got into an accident,” Supriya replied. “But I’m fine now. A tall guy helped me get up,“Ommg, girl! Do you know him?” Sofia asked,“No, girly. I wasn’t wearing my glasses at that time. But he had an infinity tattoo on his right hand."damn girl"
“Anyways, gtg,” Sofia said. “I need to report to Rachna ma’am or she’ll kill me.”
Supriya laughed, hugged her best friend, and headed towards the auditorium for the ceremony practice. As she walked, her thoughts drifted back to the mysterious guy from earlier.
Lost in her thoughts, she bumped into someone.
“Don’t you have eyes or anything?” she murmured.
“So that’s what I get as a thank you after helping you?” the guy replied.
Supriya looked up and froze.
Standing in front of her was the school’s most hated and most talked-about boy, Naman.
She went speechless. Her eyes slowly moved to his right arm.
The tattoo.
The infinity tattoo.
Without saying a word, Supriya walked past him.
Soon, she got busy with work and stopped thinking about him. When the ceremony preparations began, all the council members gathered in a room. Supriya was chatting with her friends when she suddenly felt someone watching her.
She tried to ignore it.
But then she looked up.
Their eyes locked.
Supriya had never felt anything like this before and somehow, she knew Naman felt it too.
When parents started arriving, Supriya was informed that she would be giving a speech with someone she didn’t know. As the speech practice was about to begin, she saw Naman standing there, holding the speech in his hand.
That’s when she realised they were going to give the speech together.
Before the practice began, Supriya felt nervous. Naman noticed it and spoke.
“Nervous?”
“Yeah, kinda,” she said without looking up. “It’s my first time, plus there are a lot of people.”
“I get it,” Naman said. “But don’t worry. I know everything will turn out great.”
He looked straight into her eyes.
“I trust you.”
Supriya blushed but didn’t let it show.
The ceremony went smoothly, and their speech was a hit.
After everything ended, Supriya returned to the empty auditorium to pick up her bag.
That’s when she saw Naman again.
She looked at him and smiled warmly.
“So… are you on Insta?” he asked.
She turned back, confused. “Why do you need it?”
“Just to catch up and all.”
Supriya smiled. “Your tricks won’t work on me, dork
