Chapter 2

I somehow managed to get through the rest of the day including a mildly awkward dinner with Roseilia’s parents Mimi and Eddy and a conversation with Marina about the training she was going to give me to be able to fit into this world more.

The first thing I saw when awoke was Marina opening the the translucent curtains. My dreams had been filled with my former life particularly my best friend Ria. She is one of the few things that I will miss from my former life. Marina saw that I had awoken and walked, her face softer having lost its untrusting edge, though she didn’t smile.

"Good Morning, Rose." She said her voice soft having noticed my sadness.

"Call me Roseilia I should get used to that name though do drop the 'Lady' prefix when we’re alone." I said.

"Alright it’s time for you to go to breakfast." Marina said offering her hand to help me out of bed.

"Would it be possible to have my breakfast in my bedroom?" I asked.

"I don’t see why not." Marina said and then disappeared out the doorway.

While I waited for Marina to return I read the newspaper and answered a from Roseilia’s cousin Charles, the Prince of Hazel to his 18th birthday celebration. The door opened and instead of Marina it was Annie who walked through the doorway.

"Lady Roseilia, Miss Armaine would like to see you." Annie said quietly. Miss Armaine? Oh, Roxy Armaine.

"Let her in, and Annie when I told you to take a break I meant it." I said chiding her gently.

"Sorry, My Lady." Annie said and left the room.

I thought about Roxy and her relationship with Roseilia. I have fragments of Roseilia’s memories, bits and pieces of her life. From what I can tell she was unusually fond of Roxy, at least by Roseilia’s standards. That did not however stop from saying cruel things to Roxy. It’s going to be very weird meeting her. Her being a character from the franchise.

The door slams open, causing me to flinch and in bounds in Roxy. The warm light filtered in from the window making glow as if she were an angel. Her face was aglow with her purple eyes bright, and her smile wide. Her magenta hair fell from her shoulders to her back as she turned to face me.

"Roseilia!" Roxy exclaimed. She flung herself at me, knocking me back into the soft pillows of my bed and hugging me tight.

"It’s been a while since my last visit." Roxy said with a bright smile.

"Yeah." I stammered out despite not knowing what she was talking about.

"Sooo, I heard about what you did to Rosin yesterday.” Roxy said. She was smiling but I could hear something less than pleased in her voice. Rosin? That must be the boy who I shoved yesterday.

"Yeah, I was planning on apologizing today." I responded awkwardly.

"Wonderful!" Roxy exclaimed clasping her hands together. Well, I guess I know what I’m going to do today.

"Have you gotten an invitation to my sister’s wedding?" Roxy asked.

"Was I suppose to?" I asked.

"Yeah, Ellia and Charles are getting married next year, I’ll have my sister send you an invitation." She said.

"Thank you." I said awkwardly.

"Don’t worry about it, anyways it’s time for me to leave, Bye!" Roxy said with a wave. I waved back. The door slammed shut and she was gone. I then sat in silence until Marina returned.

"Do you know where Rosin lives?" I asked.

"Rosin Varlow?, yeah why do you ask?" Marina said casually.

"I wanted to apologize, for yesterday," Marina raised her eyebrow "I know I haven’t done anything wrong but the original Roseilia did, to him and many other people and I feel responsible for it." I said, emotion dripping in my voice.

"Would you like me to guide you to his home." She said sympathetically.

"Yes, please." I said probably sounding desperate.

Marina smiled and it was then I realized how beautiful she was. Even when frowning she gorgeous but when she smiled she looked like an angel. I quickly finished my breakfast got dressed.

Once I stepped outside I found waiting outside Marina, a carriage, and oddly enough Annie. Unlike earlier this morning Annie was not wearing her maid uniform but a brown dress with a white collar and sleeve cuffs. Her hair was in two braids that I’m pretty sure were done by Marina. She looked absolutely adorable.

"She made me agree to let her come with us." Marina said. She stepped into the carriage.

"Come, ma petite pomme.” Marina beckoned to Annie and helped me and Annie into the carriage. Thus followed a short carriage ride. The carriage stopped a short distance from Rosin’s house.

"That one is his home." Marina said pointing at a small stone house.

I pulled out two Astoria’s from my pocket and handed one to Marina and one to Annie. Rossana, the Kingdom the story I’m in uses a different currency, Astorias and Lunarias. A Lunaria is equivalent to a dollar and an Astoria is equivalent to ten dollars, they come in both coin and paper money.

"What is this for?" Marina asked.

"I want to talk to him alone so why don’t you buy something to entertain yourselves until I’m done." I said hoping Marina would understand. Marina nodded, grabbed Annie’s hand and walked away.

I took a deep breath and approached the house. My heels clicked on the cobblestones as I approached and finally knocked albeit hesitantly on the well-weathered door of Rosin’s house.

The door opened to reveal Rosin. His face immediately changed at the sight of me. He flinched backwards and his eyes widened. He was gripping the door frame so tightly his knuckles were turning white.

"Ro-roseilia!" He stuttered out.

"Hi." I said softly.

"What are you doing here?" Rosin asked still clearly shocked.

"I’m sorry," Rosin’s face changed from fearful to confused "for everything and I understand if you don’t forgive me but I feel it necessary to apologize." I responded. I knew that Roseilia had hurt so many in so many ways and there’s nothing I could do to reverse the pain and trauma she no matter how much I wish I could but what I can do is try to fix things, to make things right. Rosin seemed even more confused. Then a voice chimed in.

"My lady, what did we peasants do to deserve your attention?" The voice said ironically. Ah sh*t, I am so screwed.

"Jack!" Rosin shouted as he rushed behind the blue haired boy.

"Hello, I was here to apologize to Rosin and I wish to apologize to you as well." I said holding in a sigh.

"Alright, I accept your apology but I do not forgive you, is there anything else you have to say?” Jack said annoyed.

I shook my head. I felt it was not going to go anywhere productive so I left. I found Marina and Annie waiting near the carriage. Annie was munching on some candies and Marina was sitting and reading. On the carriage home Annie attempted to start a conversation but Marina gently shushed her, knowing my tiredness.
