Zuru was still speaking when her voice suddenly trembled.
A strange heaviness filled the air — the kind you feel when an unseen presence draws near.
She stiffened.
“Obelia… we have to leave. Right now,” she whispered.
Obelia’s small hands clutched her dress.
“Leave? But where are you going?”
Her voice shook.
“Tell me! How will I find you? When… when will you come back?”
The two simply exchanged a sad look, as if carrying a secret too heavy for words.
“When the right time comes,” they said gently, “you will see us again. Just… wait for us.”
Before Obelia could protest, their figures shimmered and vanished — like mist carried away by the wind.
The silence that followed was too big for someone so small.
A sharp ache twisted inside her chest.
Then her stomach growled loudly.
She wiped her tear-blurred eyes and shouted helplessly,
“At least give me something to eat! I’m hungry!”
Her voice broke, and she sank to the ground, sobbing — the kind of crying that comes from deep loneliness.
Her tiny shoulders shook with every breath.
Suddenly, the leaves nearby rustled.
Obelia gasped and stumbled to her feet, hope lighting up her face.
They came back… they came back for me!
But the hope shattered instantly.
It wasn’t them.
A woman stepped into the clearing — surprised to see such a small child alone.
“Whose little girl is this?” the woman whispered, her heart tightening at the sight.
Obelia looked at her… and burst into tears again.
They left me… again. They left me all alone…
The woman knelt beside her, shocked and saddened.
“Oh, you poor thing… who abandoned you here?”
She looked around at the empty cottage and cursed under her breath.
“No child should be left like this.”
Gently, she lifted the trembling girl into her arms.
But something felt strange.
Obelia’s face was hidden under messy strands of hair — as if someone wanted her features concealed.
“I haven’t even seen your face properly,” the woman murmured.
With slow, careful fingers, she brushed the hair aside.
And then she froze.
The child’s hair shimmered — a deep red, rich like aged wine.
And her eyes… her eyes were molten gold, glowing even in the dim light.
“This child… she isn’t a commoner,” the woman breathed.
She looked noble. Rare. Precious.
But then why… why had she been abandoned?
The woman’s heart hardened with resolve.
“No matter who left you, I won’t,” she whispered fiercely.
“I don’t care what happens next. I’m taking you with me.”
She named the little girl Flora, because she found her among flowers and plants — fragile, beautiful, and lost.
Flora — once Obelia — cried softly in her arms, unaware of how her life had just changed.
Far away, the story of Morin Island unfolded like an old legend.
It was a magical land — every fruit, every plant infused with mana.
Magic stones lay hidden under its soil like sleeping stars.
But peace was never guaranteed.
Beside it lay the ruthless Doryana Empire, the place Obelia had once come from.
Again and again, the empire attacked the island, desperate to claim its magic for themselves.
Morin Island had no king, no army — just a community living in the heart of the sea.
In their fear, the people prayed.
They begged the Spirit of Light to protect their home.
Years passed. Hope faded.
And then… a miracle.
One night, the Spirit of Light appeared in the dream of Aria, a devoted priestess.
Her voice was soft, yet powerful enough to shake the world.
“After some time, a sacred child — the vessel of the Spirit of Creation — will be born on this island.
When she arrives, Doryana will never again harm your land.
But remember…
In every generation of her bloodline, there will be a girl with a unique ability.
That ability will reveal her destiny.”
Aria gasped and woke from the dream, her heart pounding with new hope.
And somewhere far from her…
a crying golden-eyed child had just been found
