The Story of Mapleshake

The Story of Mapleshake

Rain why rain.

The first thing I remember is wet rain hitting my face streaming down my eye lids. I could feel the glue keeping my eyes shut soften. Opening my eyes for the first time everything was blurry and wet but when it all cleared I was in some tall grass with big trees closing off the dark sky. Suddenly a huge burst of light flashed above me with a boom that had my ears injecting me with fear. I try to sit up to find a place to hide but my arms are too weak to put any weight on them. I let out a yelp to get attention but none comes. I feel an emptiness in my stomach start to form the longer i wait the more painful it gets.

The rain that beat on my back got colder and colder every minute till I was shivering. Another flash of light illuminates the sky following with a big boom I hear myself screech. Once again I try to stand and manage to lift myself up just enough to see over the grass but the cold reaches my unprotected stomach and chills my heart. The cold was too much and the rain only made it worse and the emptiness in my stomach became too painful for me to withstand. I feel my eyes start to sag and get heavy. I start to close my eyes when another boom wakes me up, I cry out again and it is metered with a silent thundering in the distance getting louder every second.

After some time the thunder seemed to be right next to me but the next thing I remember is a third of something running all around me, some running over me. The bigger ones at the front had branches on its head followed by others without any. They all seem to shake the ground and make it move. BOOM another flash of lightning making them all scatter and shake the ground with their feet making it hard to stay on the floor. Then a sudden burst of energy sent me into the air, then something smashed me into a nearby tree. Digging my claws into the bark kept me from hitting the ground, my leg filled with pain and unable to be moved as if it was pulled out of place. The only thing I could do was cry out and hope someone comes to my aid.

Soon the thundering dies down and the rain is all that can be heard besides my cries for help. Boom, another clash sends a jolt of fear through my head making me lose my grip and making me fall. When I hit the ground my leg pops back into the joint. All I could feel was pain and cold. As I look to the sky I see a gentle light of the moon getting brighter the longer I look illuminating the green trees, making the pain leave for about a second as darkness clouds my vision tell everything went black.
