She Falls Asleep Beside Him

It started raining.

Buses were delayed.

One of his security guards (disguised) approached.

“Sir, your car—”

“No.”

Aarav cut him off.

He wasn’t leaving.

Not when she was here.

They sat on the long metal bench.

Dimpal shivered lightly from the cold rainsplash.

And then, it happened.

Her head slowly, slowly, slowly tilted…

And rested on his shoulder.

She fell asleep.

Completely unaware she was leaning on the most feared man in the entire city.

Aarav stopped breathing.

Her hair brushed his neck.

Her warm breath tickled his jaw.

Her small hand subconsciously rested on his sleeve.

Aarav didn’t move a muscle.

He didn’t dare disturb her.

For the first time in years,

someone touched him…

and it felt like home.

He tilted his head slightly, letting his cheek touch the top of her head—just lightly, just enough to feel her softness.

No pain.

No allergy.

Only warmth.

He whispered in a voice softer than rain:

“You’re trouble.”

She mumbled in her sleep, “Five minutes… no more studying…”

Aarav’s lips curved.

Trouble.

Beautiful, adorable trouble.

He slowly, very gently, lifted the edge of her dupatta where it was getting wet in the rain, folded it over her shoulder, protecting her.

No one else knew.

She didn’t know.

But he sat there, guarding her like a silent shadow.

The bus finally came.

Aarav hesitated—should he wake her?

Before he decided, the bus honked loudly.

Dimpal jolted awake—

and WHACK.

Her forehead smacked his chin.

“Ow—!”

“Ouch—!”

They both held their heads.

She gasped, horrified.

“DID I JUST HEADBUTT THE CEO?!”

People stared.

Aarav rubbed his chin, trying not to smile.

“You have a very dangerous forehead.”

“I—I’M SORRY SIR!!!”

She almost cried.

He shook his head.

“It’s fine.”

“It’s NOT! I slept on your shoulder! I invaded your personal space! Oh god, did I drool—?”

Aarav’s ears turned red.

She didn’t drool.

She just breathed softly, like a kitten.

“No,” he muttered quickly. “You didn’t.”

“Oh thank god.”

Then she whispered:

“Your shoulder is very comfortable.”

Aarav froze.

People at the bus stop stared, risking their lives for gossip.

He was speechless.

Comfortable?

His shoulder?

HER head?

His heart did a full somersault.

Before he could reply, the bus arrived and she quickly ran inside.

“Bye sir!”

He stood there, stunned.

Comfortable.

She said he was comfortable.

Aarav Malhotra felt like someone had handed him the universe.

Aarav Begins His “Soft, Silent Obsession”

That night, he couldn’t sleep.

Not after her warmth rested on him.

Not after she smiled.

Not after her sleepy voice said his shoulder was comfortable.

He replayed the moment like a sacred memory.

He touched his shoulder, remembering her weight.

For the first time in years,

he wanted more.

Not in a dark way.

Not forceful.

But in a soft, hungry, yearning way.

He wanted , her smile,  her warmth, her clumsiness, her innocent chaos, her sleepy whispers,  her presence

He wanted to be the one she leaned on, fully awake, fully aware.

He whispered to himself

Girl.....

I’m going to make you mine.

Slowly.

Softly.

Completely.

And you won’t even realize when it happened.”
