At Lotus Pier

When they arrive, Lotus Pier shimmered under the golden light of the setting sun. To Wei Ying, stepping through its gates felt like entering another world. The air was filled with the scent of lotus blossoms and the gentle sound of water lapping against the docks. It was a far cry from the gritty streets of Yiling.

Jiang Fengmian led him through the bustling courtyard, where disciples practiced their swordsmanship and servants hurried about their tasks. Wei Ying clung close, his senses overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of his new surroundings.

("Is this really happening?") he wondered, his heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. ("Am I really here?")

As they approached the main hall, a figure emerged, her steps brisk and her expression stern. It was Madam Yu, her violet robes flowing around her like a storm cloud. Her eyes, sharp and discerning, immediately fell upon Wei Ying.

"Fengmian, what is the meaning of this?" she demanded, her voice laced with disapproval. "Who is this child?"

Jiang Fengmian's expression softened as he turned to Madam Yu, his voice gentle but firm. "A-Li, this is Wei Ying. I found him in Yiling. He has nowhere else to go."

Madam Yu's eyes narrowed, her gaze piercing. "And you think bringing a street urchin into our home is a wise decision? He looks like nothing but trouble."

Wei Ying lowered his head, his cheeks burning with shame. He had expected a warm welcome, but Madam Yu's words stung like a slap.

Jiang Fengmian placed a reassuring hand on Wei Ying's shoulder, his eyes conveying unspoken support. "A-Li, he is just a child. He needs our help."

Madam Yu scoffed, crossing her arms. "Our help? Or another mouth to feed, another burden to bear?"

The tension in the air was palpable. Wei Ying could feel the weight of Madam Yu's disapproval, the unspoken resentment simmering beneath the surface.

Despite the frosty reception from his wife, Jiang Fengmian remained steadfast. He led Wei Ying inside, introducing him to the servants and showing him to a small, humble room that would be his own.

As Wei Ying settled into his new surroundings, he couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. Madam Yu's words echoed in his mind, fueling his insecurity. He knew he had to prove himself, to show them that he was not just a burden, but someone worthy of their kindness.

Later that evening, as Wei Ying sat alone in his room, Jiang Fengmian came to visit him. He sat beside him on the bed, his eyes filled with warmth and compassion.

"Don't pay attention to A-Li's words," he said softly, his voice a comforting balm. "She has a sharp tongue, but she has a good heart. Give her time. She will come around."

Wei Ying looked up at Jiang Fengmian, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Jiang-shushu," he whispered. "I promise I won't let you down."

Jiang Fengmian smiled, ruffling Wei Ying's hair. "I know you won't," he said. "You have a spark in you, Wei Ying. A spark that will light up the world."

[Later that evening ]

When wei Wuxian was about to take a nap when a sound was made from his hair pin the one Hashina gave him.

" wei ying..wei ying ...can you hear me ?" . wei ying was shock he heard his jiêjie's voice. " jiêjie ?" wei ying asked

"oh good your not asleep yet..now tell me about your arrival at Lotus Pier ,did they treat you right? , where they nice to you? , did they feed you ? , Did they hurt you ? ".

" hehehe I'm fine jiêjie you don't have to worry and yes they were nice,they treat me right,they also feed me and no they did not hurt me .. actually they were really nice except for madam Yu I think she doesn't really like me she said some mean words to me but it's true and tomorrow I'm meeting Jiang-shushu's children"

"Ohh that's great your alright and that madam Yu how dear she said some mean words to my sweet little brother"

"jiêjie it's alright it's true what madam Yu said and don't do anything to madam Yu"

'sigh' " fine..fine I won't do anything and you better get some sleep it's almost midnight "

" alright jiêjie good night "

" alright good night my sweet little brother"
