The Storm

FADE IN:

**EXT . HALE ESTATE – NIGHT**

The estate lies under a thick blanket of silence—broken only by the distant howl of wind through trees. A storm is coming, not just in the sky… but within these walls.

Lightning flashes across the cliffs, illuminating for a split second a figure standing at the edge—hooded, still.

A lone figure stands beneath an ancient willow tree, cloaked in shadows, watching the estate like a hunter studying prey. Fingers slip deeper into pockets, eyes narrowing. A sudden gust of wind rustles through tall grass along the back edge—a rustle that sounds more like footsteps sneaking closer.

The figure steps further back into deeper darkness, not turning around even once.

Then darkness swallows everything again.

CUT TO:

INT . LILA’S BEDROOM – NIGHT

Lila sits on her bed clutching Kael’s journal—one she found tucked inside his jacket when he vanished moments ago from her room like smoke in wind.

Pages filled with scribbled notes:

- “They drugged me every night after 9.”

- “Seraphina signed off on it.”

- “Victor called it ‘reconditioning.’”

- And one circled over and over: **“Lila doesn’t know. Protect her at all costs.”**

She reads it again and again until tears blur the ink.

A soft knock echoes—three taps. Pause. Two more.

Their signal.

She wipes her face fast and opens the door—

No one there.

Just a small envelope on floor marked *“Play Me.”*

Inside—a vintage VHS tape labeled in handwriting she knows too well:

**“Project Phoenix: Session #07”**

Back of tape has three words written in red:

> *Don’t let them see.*

Her hands tremble as she walks to old projector hidden behind wardrobe—a relic from childhood movie nights that never happened…

She turns it on.

Film rolls with crackling sound…

Grainy image fills wall…

INT . SECURITY TUNNEL – FLASHBACK (VHS FOOTAGE)

Camera shaky, handheld—the date stamp flickers: **May 12th — Ten Years Ago**

We see young KAEL, early 20s now but thinner then, eyes wide with panic—he's running down dark corridor lit by emergency red lights blinking like warning hearts

Breathing hard

Voices echo behind him

Security shouting

Gunshots ring out

He turns corner — blood dripping from arm

Looks directly into camera as if knowing someone is watching even now

KAEL (on tape)

“If you’re seeing this… I didn’t make it.”

(pause)

“But they can’t erase truth forever.”

Then gun fires close — he ducks

Screen jolts

Footsteps chasing

Final frame before cut-off:

A symbol spray-painted on wall behind him — three interlocking circles forming an eye

Same symbol Kael carved into tree beside their secret cabin when they were kids…

Same symbol Lila saw tonight beneath east garden stone path—

CUT TO BLACK

Tape whirs to stop

Silence

Lila stares at blank wall where image was… then whispers into dark:

“I believe you…”

Outside—rain begins to fall softly against glass like fingers tapping patiently waiting for answers

Suddenly—her phone buzzes violently across nightstand

Unknown Number:**

“They’re watching your room.”

Seconds later——door handle JIGGLES

Not knocked

Turned

Someone’s trying to get in

Under bed——a pair of black shoes step slowly forward

Silent

Deliberate

From outside hallway——faint click

Door lock disengaging

FADE OUT
