A Year Later
LILLY'S POV
I was so excited to finally go to high school, it was my first day in sophomore year and I didn't want to be late. To say that I was nervous was an understatement I was totally freaked out. Suddenly, the door burst opened followed by a series of giggles. Oh, I totally forgot I have an elder sister her name is Margo, she was brought in by my parents after her mom's death. Well like any other family when she came in last year, we had some issues here and there. My parents constantly argued, because mom, didn't know dad had another daughter two years older than me. And I didn't get along with her well either, we constantly argued, and apparently I moved to the pool house in the backyard. It took time for me and mom to get used to her, and now we're cool.
"Yo Lilly check this out, my former classmates sent me this," she said making herself comfortable on my bed. But when she didn't receive any response from me, she looked up at me. "Hey what's wrong?" she asked me, worry evident in her face. "I'm just nervous,"I said truthfully. "Why? Oh, first day jitters, don't worry everything will be fine, you know my first day in high school, I was also worried. I was like are there going to be big kids, wait how will the teachers be? And in the end I got my first period in school due to stress."
"No way, you nervous? It looks kinda impossible," I said with a chuckle.
"I know, right? What I'm trying to say is, don't overthink it, just go out there and act normal like you go there every time okay?" she said and I nodded. It's funny how we share things, but I sometimes suspect it's the sister bond working.
"Girls breakfast is ready,"mom called out from downstairs."coming mom,"we said in unison." Jinx,"we said in unison again resulting to a series of giggles. "Last one downstairs owes the other one a panini,"Margo said running downstairs." Hey not fair,"I said fetching my bag pack and following her downstairs. After breakfast dad dropped us off at school, at the school gate I looked around with awe. Everything in that school screamed luxury, I looked at the expensive cars in the parking lot, to the well-dressed students, and I was left with my mouth agape. "Look alive girl, I'll show you to the principal's office and get your schedule," Margo offered.
"Thanks, this school is sick," I said as I followed her.
After getting my schedule Margo offered to show me around the school with the excuse of me knowing my way around 'cause she couldn't be around all the time. And since we were early I agreed. I was so great full she showed me to my locker first since I was tired of carrying my books around.
