Episode 4: The Business Trap

The office was quiet, too quiet. Taehyung sat behind the massive desk, hands trembling slightly as he stared at the documents before him. Today was supposed to be his first solo meeting with a potential business partner—a deal that could strengthen the family empire.

But Taehyung already sensed trouble.

He had barely greeted the executives when a sharp, cold voice sliced through the air. “So, you’re the famous Taehyung, the pampered heir?”

Taehyung froze. The man’s words were polite on the surface, but the sneer in his eyes was unmistakable. Taehyung glanced at the documents—contracts subtly altered, figures misrepresented. Someone was setting him up to fail.

He swallowed hard, heart hammering. Before he could react, the door swung open.

Jungkook stepped in, dark and imposing as always, his presence immediately filling the room. “Taehyung, step aside,” he said, voice low but commanding. The executives stiffened under his gaze.

Taehyung blinked. “I—I can handle it,” he stammered.

“No,” Jungkook interrupted sharply. “Not alone.”

With a single glance, Jungkook’s mind worked faster than anyone could follow. He corrected the contracts with a few precise words, redirected the conversation, and even subtly intimidated the executives into compliance—all while making it appear as if Taehyung was confident and in control.

Taehyung watched, heart pounding, as Jungkook maneuvered through the meeting like a general on a battlefield. And yet, every glance he gave Taehyung carried the same underlying message: I’ve got you.

After the executives left, Jungkook turned to him, expression unreadable. “Your sister did this,” he said, voice low. “Altered the documents, set you up. She’s trying to make you look incompetent so she can push for a divorce.”

Taehyung’s stomach twisted. His sister’s jealousy was worse than he imagined. “Why… why is she like this?” he whispered.

Jungkook’s eyes softened, but only slightly, enough for Taehyung to catch the rare glimpse of warmth. “Because she’s afraid someone will take you from her… and she underestimates me.”

“Underestimates you?” Taehyung asked, confused.

Jungkook’s jaw tightened. “She doesn’t know that I don’t lose. Not at business, not at family, not at anything that matters to me.”

Taehyung felt a strange flutter in his chest. There was danger all around—family politics, scheming partners, his sister’s relentless hatred—but Jungkook was always one step ahead. Always.

As they walked back to the private elevator, Jungkook’s hand brushed lightly against Taehyung’s arm, a small but possessive gesture that sent heat rushing through his body. “Stay close to me,” Jungkook murmured, almost more to himself than to Taehyung.

Taehyung’s heart skipped. In a world where everyone seemed to want to use him, betray him, or humiliate him, Jungkook was the only constant.

And he knew, with a clarity that scared him, that he would do anything to stay by Jungkook’s side—no matter the danger, no matter the schemes, no matter the cost.
