Chapter 4- Raphael's Letter

Fine! Fine! They were supposed to be fine, to be healing to sharing the grief of their father together. Michelangelo even started feeling happy, better, at least that what he thought.

But his brother's had other plans, he didn't know what, but he knew they were. They way Leonardo was always in his room, Raphael was on his phone strolling being secretive and Donatello stayed locked away in his lab more than usual. It stomped on his heart to see them so apart.

Michelangelo, paying more attention that, they didn't even know where each other is, they always told him, to find one another it was frustrating and draining.

A week in and Casey started coming over, Michelangelo was happy to have someone here, "Casey! Dude why brings you to the lair?" Michelangelo asked and Casey gave him a confused look. "Oh, Raph didn't tell you, we're going to explore for a few days." Casey explained cheerfully.

Michelangelo's heart dropped, exploring for a few days. No! Raphael wouldn't leave, probably just going to hang out explore more of the city and come back like they always did.

Michelangelo opened his mouth to respond, when Raphael walked out and dragged Casey off to his room, shooting him a glare. Michelangelo could only watch as that door shuts with a loud bang, but he shouldn't think negatively. Michelangelo grabbed his skate board and headed down the sewers to clear his head.

In Raphael's room, Casey made himself comfortable in Raphael's bed. "What's the deal, dude? Mikey was just asking a question." Casey stated and questioned, but Raphael didn't look the littlest bit of calm in the slightest. "I haven't told Mikey about the trip, you know." Raphael admitted.

"You know how Mikey is, besides Leonardo and Donatello will be here, while I'm gone, so he won't be alone." Raphael stated, "Those boneheads, can never stand Mikey being alone for too long." Raphael spoke, letting out a sigh. Casey looks at him understandingly, "okay, dude anyway! You all packed for tomorrow, do forget to say goodbye to Mikey tomorrow at least." Casey said with chuckled.

Raphael let out a forced laugh, looking away from Casey. Say goodbye and ruin his getaway plan, nope. Casey and Raphael left soon after for little patrol together taking about their plans before their leave tomorrow night.

Raphael got back around 2 am, it was already the next day. Dragging his tired yet excited body to his bed to rest until night fall once more. The day continued with other three brothers, Leonardo mediated in the dojo, Donatello coming out his lab for coffee only and Michelangelo playing old games on the TV.

The lair was quiet, it was never quiet unless they were mediating. This was different kind of quiet and Michelangelo didn't like it but what can he do but wait.

Hours passed, and the lair was truly silent except for the scribbling of paper and soft footsteps of someone moving. Michelangelo had left to his bed feeling bored and feel asleep reading on his comics. He heard a door click close, and he got up tired and groggy.

Michelangelo exited his room look around as he rubs the sleep from his eyes. His gaze landed on Raphael's room which was open and who better to ask but his hotheaded brother. Upon entering the room, there was no one but a letter on the empty bed.

Michelangelo's heart beats quickly as he slowly walks to the bed, his fingers picking up the letter, and he began to read.

To Donnie and Leo

Guys, I'm gone me and Casey are going to explore, maybe learn new hobbies. I know this is sudden, but I couldn't take it anymore, we're fight, and it's not good for us. So, I left I don't know for how long,, but I know once I'm back we'd all be better. I know your probably upset at me just leaving but it's for my own good.

Don't forget to take care of Mikey for me, Donatello and Leonardo, he still needs you two even if I'm not there.

RAPHAEL.

Water hits the paper, as the tears stream down Michelangelo's face. Raphael had left, he had truly and was probably too far for him to catch up. He looked at letter, 'He still needs you two even if I'm not there.' those words circle in his mind.

Michelangelo kept reading it over and over and each time was another blow to his chest and heart. He folded back the letter and walked back to his bedroom, collapsing on to his bed. He opens back the letter.

Reading again, he realizes Raphael left because of the grief. There was too much fighting, too many arguments. Michelangelo was so caught up on keep everyone together and happy, he didn't realize that it was destroying them all. He closed his eyes, he should've tried harder.

Across the city in car, Raphael hidden in back seat as the Casey drove down exiting New York, to an empty road. Bags packed, adventures ahead, Raphael finally felt free.

"Wooo!! Where to first, Raph?" Casey said with his eyes on the road, brimmed with excitement and adrenaline. Raphael looked at their map, dragging his finger along the lines of the road they were on. "Maybe right here, it has a lot of trees, we could get in some rest, do some hunting maybe even explore through it." Raphael said, the smile one his face brighten.

"Well you got the map, just tell me when to turn, this is our adventure, let's make it work worth wild, maybe even take pictures to show the dudes when we come back." Casey said, with chuckle, but Raphael's head was elsewhere imaging everything he could do, His brothers would be fine they had each other.

Back in New York City, a few meters away from the road, Raphael and Casey just left on, Tiger claw smirked. "He's left, Master Shredder." Tiger claw said turning and getting on knee to bows, as shredder's figure emerge from the darkness, in a new sleek armor.

Shredder let out a cold laugh, "Good, good, those pesky turtles, thought they killed me, I'll hurt the one person they had left." He paused, "Michelangelo." He said. "Keep me updated on who leaves next we'll strike him at his lowest, one down, two go." Shredder order and turned and disappeared into the alleyway.

Tigerclaw, stood up from his knee, nodding as he followed behind shredder.
