Author POV
Darkened clouds hover New York city, Michelangelo sat on the edge of building, Raphael's letter tucked beneath his side, it's already been two days since, Raphael packed and left. Two days without sewing his hothead brother punching the worn out dummy in the dojo. To say Michelangelo was heartbroken was an understatement.
His eyes glaze over the streets of the city, the letter tapping against his skin as the winds blew. "Well, well, all alone are you, Michelangelo." A voice spook from behind him, like a growl, Tiger claw. Michelangelo turned around taking out his Nun chucks with ease. "Well if it isn't the kitty cat, here for beating they're free." Michelangelo said back with a grin.
But, Tiger claw didn't look like he wants to fight, he stood in front of Michelangelo with a sinister smirk, but he was at distant. Tiger claw growled light, "Always quick to with your comments, honestly it's kinda of annoying, no wonder your brother left." Those words had Michelangelo frozen. Tiger claw, smirked he knew he hit a nerves.
Michelangelo hands grip the handles of his weapon, "You don't know what your talking about! How do you even know he left!?" Michelangelo yelled, anger rising in him. How dare this tiger say that, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Tiger claw said nothing but chuckled, "How do you think? He has eyes everywhere." He said, it was so suspicious and vague, but it sent a deep chill down Michelangelo's back.
Michelangelo took a step closer, his face filled with rage, "Pretty vague for someone always ready for a fight." Michelangelo said with a slight grin. Tiger claw grinned widen, "Oh, I will be fighting, soon." Tiger claw stated, leaning against the chimney of the rooftop. "But I have enough patience to wait to defeat you turtles or maybe just you." Tiger claw said gripping his hand into a fist.
"What's that supposed to mean, my brothers and I will always be there to stop you." Michelangelo said, fear creeping into his skin as he thought of the implications of Tiger claw's words. Tiger claw laughed out, "You mean the brothers who want to leave, just like Raphael, they'll leave and you will be easy for the picking." Tiger claw said his voice sinister and evil.
Michelangelo's hand shook at his words, "No they won't! I'll tell them, and they'll get raph back, and we'll stop you!!" Michelangelo yelled shaking his head, tears threatening to fall, "Y-You... don't…k-know, what you're talking about." Michelangelo's voice trembles with a slight hic.
Tiger Claw, laughed once more, "Yeah, go run and complain, maybe they'll see the amount of trouble you cause, and they'll leave faster, you can't even handle your own battles, Some ninja." Some ninja, Michelangelo had heads those words before Raphael would say it when he screwed up, when he complained about things. The doubt started creeping into his mind.
Would they really leave if he complained, would they leave if they saw how much trouble Michelangelo draws to himself? Tears prick at his eyes as the roll down his cheek as his mind went through the worse scenarios.
Tiger claw, smirked watching the orange spiral into doubt, his work was done, so he turned and left, leaving Michelangelo in his thoughts and doubts. Shredder will be pleased about the progress.
Michelangelo staggered home, through the living room, memories of the harsh words of his brother. He reached his bed and collapsed in his bed letting out a broken, sob into the pillow. He took out the letter from his side pinning to his wall.
Tiger claw, was right he complained too much, they wouldn't leave if just kept to himself, and he could do that.
It's been a week since the tiger claw encounter, and it seems, Donatello and Leonardo haven't left yet so it was working until it wasn't.
Leonardo, was sitting on his bed, his bag on his back as he scribbled on a paper. He was supposed to the leader, the eldest but as he looked to the photo of their dad in his room, he felt like a coward, leaving his brothers to fend for themselves. Leonardo, lowers the frames picture, so it would stop looking at him with judgement.
He left the letter on his bed and exited his room, he opened the front door with ease looking back at the lair before turning, and he left jumping through the city to the airport into the middle of the night. Leonardo moved with stealth, getting on the back of the plane where the luggage was as the plane took off.
Leonardo let out a sigh of relaxation, watching as New York City get smaller as he grew further.
Michelangelo found the letter two days. He was walking to the dojo, and it looked bear the place where Leonardo sat and mediate was fading back into how it was. Dread filled him as rushed to Leonardo's room opening the door. A letter, picture frame turned down.
Michelangelo took step grabbing the letter and began to read.
Donnie and Raph
I'm heading to Japan, to a place where master splinter said he had visited once. To take break, to relax and clear my head of grief and pain, we're going through, what I'm going through. I know this seems cowardly, but I can seem to clear my head and be the leader Sensei trained me to be, so I had leave to be better for you guys.
Tell Mikey, I love and care for him and me leaving wasn't his fault, make sure to take care of him guys, even if I'm not here he still needs his brothers.
LEONARDO.
The words stung at Michelangelo's heart, 'he still needs his brothers'. Those words almost made me scoff, how can he need them when they're all leaving him, thinking the other two wouldn't leave as well.
Michelangelo, turned up the picture frame and leaves the room closing the door, with Leonardo gone and Tiger claw's words, Michelangelo didn't feel the amount of hurt.
Maybe he should expect it, they were already leaving, to find themselves to heal, while he stays here. He looked to Donatello's room, the only turtle who had left, yet. Michelangelo started moving into that direction, 'All you do is complain, no wonder he left' Tiger claw's words rang through his head bring him to a stop.
Michelangelo went back to his room to think, to do anything that didn't require him to remember to forget that is his reality, that his brothers are leaving. Maybe he should be understanding, they just want to heal, the lair is painful to be in, brings in memories of the past of their father, but they should be able to heal together. No Turtle left behind after all.
