Asanoya chapter 1

Nishinoya's point of view

It was a rather cold and rainy day. I was heading to the gym so I could meet up with everyone else in Karasuno and train. We have a practice match against Date Tech today. I wondered to myself on how Asahi would take it. He hasn't had the greatest memories with Date Tech. I approached the gym and all I heard was a few people yelling. Maybe not everyone was there yet. I could hear Hinata's voice and Kageyama's. I'm not surprised that they're here. I needed to talk to Sugawara about something, just Sugawara no one else. It's a bit personal. But I think I like the big giant, Asahi. I don't know if he likes anyone. As I opened the gym door, I saw Kageyama and Hinata, practicing. I'm not really surprised.

Hinata: "Hey Noya!"

Nishinoya: "Hey little orange!!"

Hinata: "You're little too!!!"

Nishinoya: "Haha, I know"

Kageyama: "Uh... Hey Nishinoya"

Nishinoya: "Just call me Noya, You're my teammate"

Kageyama: "Yeah, thanks"

Nishinoya: "Algood"

Sugawara: "Hey guys!"

As he bursts through the door with Daichi. I was wondering if I should talk to him or not. Would he care if I'm bisexual? He'll probably be supportive. I pretty sure he likes Daichi. But doesn't Daichi have Michimiya? I don't even know anymore.

Hinata: "Hey Suga and Daichi!"

Kageyama: "Hey"

Sugawara: "Hi Noya!"

Nishinoya: "Huh? Oh Sugawara! Hi"

Sugawara: "Nishinoya, are you okay? Someone or something bothering you?"

Nishinoya: "Oh no! don't worry about it, seriously. It's nothing important anyways"

Daichi: "Morning guys. Aren't you cold?"

Hinata: "Me and Kageyama have been training ever since 5am. We're boiling"

Daichi: "Haha, fair enough.. What about you Nishinoya?"

Nishinoya: "I came here a few minutes ago"

Daichi: "Oh.. right.."

Sugawara: "Anyone seen Asahi? I need to talk to him"

Hinata: "No, sorry Suga"

Kageyama: "Nope, sorry"

Nishinoya: "Neither"

Sugawara: "Damn, that's okay. Let's just train"

I wondered why Sugawara wanted to talk to Asahi. I'm so curious. What if it's about who Asahi likes. Damn, I really wanna know! The gym was set. We we're just waiting for the other's, so we decided to take a break.

Hinata: "Man, I'm dead"

Kageyama: "Same over here"

Daichi: "Serves you both right for practicing all morning"

Sugawara: "Who even gave you the keys to unlock the gym door?"

Hinata: "Uhh... Kageyama?"

Kageyama: "Umm..."

Sugawara: "Tell me."

Kageyama: "Tanaka.."

Sugawara: "TANAKA?!"

Daichi: "Calm down Sugawara"

Suga looks hurt from that. Daichi never calls him "Sugawara". It's always "Suga" but never "Sugawara". It's started to rain outside and the wind started to kick in. The gym door and a couple of people walk in. I spotted Asahi! I wanted to get up and hug him and say good morning. But my body was preventing me. I couldn't get up. I was stuck. My body was paralysed. I couldn't open my mouth. I was wondering what was happening.

Asahi: "Hey Noya!!"

I started shaking. I didn't know what to say to him.

Nishinoya: "H-Hey!"

What the hell was that Noya? I sluttered. My voice was terrible. A shiver went down my back. I hid my face from everyone. I was embarrassed. I was.. shy. I've never felt this before. I'm normally happy and energetic.

Sugawara: "Noya, are you sure that you're okay?"

Nishinoya: "Yes! I swear! I'm perfectly fine. Trust me!"

Oh god, why am I lying? Asahi's walking over to me. What do I do? A few seconds later. He's standing right next to me, he bent down. I had the urge to hug him or to kiss him. But I couldn't do that. What if he wasn't gay or bisexual. That'd be embarrassing and would ruin my friendship with him. I was overthinking way too much.

Asahi: "Noya, are you okay?"

His voice, it was so calming and relaxing. I could listen to it all day. But when I come to think of it. All my thoughts we're gone. Everything stopped. I stopped overthinking. I looked at him square in the eyes and..

Nishinoya: "I'm fine, thank you"

Asahi: "Are you sure, it looks like there's alot going on in you're mind"

Nishinoya: "Positive, couldn't be better"

Asahi: "You look really do--"

He got cut off. Coach Ukai and Takeda walked in the gym. Coach Ukai had an announcement for us. I'm guessing it was about the match with Date Tech in a few days.

Coach Ukai: "Morning everyone. I have an announcement. I told you yesterday but I'll tell you again in case you forgot. We have a match with Date Tech on thursday. I know I said wednesday but it was pushed back to thursday since Date Tech has a practice match with Aoba Johsai on wednesday. Also we will not be practicing today, so you all will be going to class."

Takeda: "And Sugawara, Daichi, Asahi and Kiyoko, I need to talk to you all in the afternoon"

Sugawara: "Kiyoko isn't here yet"

Daichi: "Nor Tanaka, Yamaguchi, Tsukishima or Yachi"

Takeda: "Please tell Kiyoko when she gets here"

Sugawara: "Okay"

Coach Ukai: "Alright bye kiddos!"

Hinata: "Bye!!"

Kageyama: "Bye.."

Sugawara: "Cya later coach"

Daichi: "Catch you later"

Asahi: "Bye"

Nishinoya: "Heh.. Bye"

Coach Ukai and Takeda left the gym while Tsukishima and Yamaguchi came in. Oh and holding hands. But I'm probably the only one that saw it. I'm not a snitch when it comes to relationships. I thought that Tsukishima wasn't even gay or bisexual. It's hard to tell with Tsukishima. Yamaguchi was always gay. Alot of people knew that. Even so, I always thought they we're childhood friends. And only childhood friends, nothing else.

Sugawara: "Hey Tsukishima and Yamaguchi"

Yamaguchi: "Morning Sugawara"

Tsukishima: "Yeah.. Morning"

Hinata: "You're so salty Tsukishima"

Tsukishima: "Shut up, you shrimp"

Kageyama: "Shut up, you salty french fry"

Looks like Kageyama and Tsukishima are gonna fight again. They're always fighting lately.

Hinata: "Kageyama, stop!"

Yamaguchi: "Tsukki, stop!"

Kageyama: "For you then."

Tsukishima: "Whatever."

Daichi: "My god."

Asahi: "I pray for you all"

Tanaka: "You look like Jesus anyways"

Nishinoya: "Tanaka!!"

Tanaka: "Wassup little man"

Daichi: "Morning to you too Tanaka"

Hinata: "Morning..."

Kageyama: "What boke said.."

Tanaka: "Why are you two so gloomy?"

Sugawara: "I wonder why too."

Tanaka: "Oh.. He found out right?"

Hinata: "Yeah..."

Tanaka: "Oh shoot.."

(Tanaka runs out of the gym, Sugawara chases after him)

Daichi: "Come back inside!! It's raining!!!"

Asahi: "They'll come back eventually."

Daichi: "Yeah I know.."

Nishinoya: "Tanaka is dead meat"

Hinata: "Yes he is"

Kageyama: "His fault"

Tsukishima: "It's also your fault for getting him in trouble too"

Yamaguchi: "Tsukki-"

Kageyama: "What is your problem?"

Tsukishima: "Nothing."

Kageyama: "Like that's the f--"

Daichi: "Enough."

Well, silence filled the air. You never want to get Daichi mad. He's really scary when he's mad. Asahi was still standing next to me. At the point, I didn't really care. I got up and starting playing Volleyball. Everyone was there except Tanaka, Sugawara, Kiyoko, Yachi, Coach Ukai and Takeda. After a few minutes of playing Volleyball with the team. Everyone turned up.

Yachi: "Hello everyone!!"

Ennoshita: "Hello Yachi and Kiyoko. And hello Coach Ukai, Takeda, Sugawara, Tanaka again."

Coach Ukai: "Change of plans. We will be practicing all day."

Takeda: "Kiyoko at the end of the day, come to my office"

Kiyoko: "Alright"

Tanaka: "Hey Kiyoko~"

(Kiyoko walks away)

Tanaka: "Kiyoko!!~"

(Everyone laughs at him. Including me)

I don't really like Kiyoko anymore. I lost feelings because I knew it would've of never happened. She probably would've chose Tanaka if she was straight but she's dating Yachi I think. No one else knows that she's lesbian or dating Yachi but me. I don't know why I know all the secrets. I don't know why people trust me either. I'm not really that special. The rain from outside started getting heavier. I could hear thunder from a little far away. Somehow I have good hearing. The wind was going in and out of the gym. It was cold. Really cold. It felt almost like Antarctica. It smelt like rain. Just rain, nothing else. Coach Ukai was talking about something. I don't have a clue, I'm not listening to him. I'm just thinking of.. Asahi. I can't get him out of my head. He's always there. But I'm also thinking of that he's a third year, which means he's graduating this year. I may never be able to see him again. I thought to myself that I needed to ask him out. This year. I need to. Otherwise this might be the last year I'll be able to see him. I got this. I can do this. I just need to ask him out. I need to! I can do this. But what if he doesn't like me? Just thinking about him leaving really upsets me. I felt a tear roll down my cold skin. I couldn't help but only look in one direction. My hair was blowing in the wind while I sat down in the sidelines. Some more tears roll down. I stopped starring into space and wiped my eyes. I looked over to the team to make sure they're not looking at me. And they weren't. I got up off the ground. I hid my face from everyone and walked out of the gym.

Sugawara: "Nishinoya's been acting weird recently"

Asahi: "I know, he won't ever tell me the truth he's always saying "I'm fine/okay" and then someone else is there to interrupt me"

Sugawara: "I'm going to check up on him"

(Everyone says "Okay/Alright" and continues playing Volleyball.)

• Where Nishinoya is

Sugawara: "Hey, Noya!! I knew you'd be here"

Nishinoya: "Suga??!"

I wiped my eye's quickly as he approached me. I was shaking.

Sugawara: "Nishinoya, please honestly answer me. Are you okay? You've been acting weird lately and we're all worried about you."

Nishinoya: "Sugawara.. You wouldn't judge me right?"

Sugawara: "Never!"

Nishinoya: "Sugawara... I.. I-I.."

Sugawara: "Noya?"

Nishinoya: "I'm inlove with someone.."

Sugawara: "Nishinoya that's great!! Who's the lucky girl!!??"

Nishinoya: "Well..."

Sugawara: "Well?"

Nishinoya: "Well it's a guy..."

Sugawara: "Noya that's amazing!! Who is it?"

Nishinoya: "It's.. A-A-Asahi..."

Sugawara: "Really?!"

Nishinoya: "Yeah.."

Sugawara: "That's great, you should ask him out!! I'm sure he'll say yes!!"

Nishinoya: "That's the thing.."

Sugawara: "Noya... What's wrong..."

I couldn't answer. I feel like Sugawara wouldn't understand.

Sugawara: "Nishinoya...?"

Nishinoya: "YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND, OKAY?!"

I burst straight into tears. I started to walk backwards. Sugawara slowly walked towards me.

Sugawara: "Nishinoya... You can tell me..."

Nishinoya: "NO, NO, NO!! You wouldn't understand.. you wouldn't.."

My voice was croaky. I was shaking. I couldn't stop crying. I just ran off and all I could hear was Sugawara trying to get me to come back. Soon my foot twisted and all I remember is everything going black and Sugawara running after me. And his voice yelling out my name. And also yelling for help. That's all I could remember. But I soon woke up in a very clean place. I very white place. It smelt like cleaning products and just people's scent. People we're surrounding me. Talking about something, I couldn't understand what they we're saying. I just tried to wake up a little more.

(Asahi's point of view)

I wonder of Noya's okay. All that happened was I heard Sugawara's voice crying for help why'll hugging onto Nishinoya. The doctor's came out of Noya's room at told us some news.

Doctor: "Are you the friends of Nishinoya Yuu?"

Daichi: "Yes we are, is he okay?"

Doctor: "He is fine but what happened was that he was running too fast and ran into something or tripped over and hit his head pretty hard."

Daichi: "Alright, thank you. Can we go see him?"

Doctor: "No problem and yes, you can go see him"

Daichi: "Thank you again"

Doctor: "My pleasure"

Daichi: "Actually, I think Asahi should go in first"

Sugawara: "Yeah.."

Asahi: "Oh, okay.."

I walked into Nishinoya's room. Not going to lie, I was kinda nervous. When I walked in, I just looked at him. Nothing else but him. I saw him slowly turn his head towards me. He looked like he was so tired.

Nishinoya: "Asahi.."

Asahi: "Noya... You scared me.."

Nishinoya: "I'm so sorry.."

Asahi: "Don't be sorry, as long as you're okay"

Silence kinda filled the air. I didn't know what to say to him. It was kinda awkward not going to lie.

Nishinoya: "Hey Asahi..."

Asahi: "Yeah..?"

Nishinoya: "Question..."

Asahi: "Oh okay, go ahead"

Nishinoya: "What's your sexuality?"

Asahi: "Well.. Uh..."

Nishinoya: "You don't have to answer if you don't want to"

Asahi: "It's fine, I'm gay. Why'd you ask? What's your sexuality then?"

Nishinoya: "Oh.. I'm bisexual.."

Asahi: "You like anyone?"

Nishinoya: "Yeah but I'd prefer not to say"

Asahi: "I wouldn't force you to tell me"

Nishinoya: "Yeah.."

Asahi: "How you holding up?"

Nishinoya: "I feel a little better"

Asahi: "That's great! I should leave so the other's can see you"

Nishinoya: "Alright, bye Asahi"

Asahi: "Bye Noya.. Feel better soon"

I wanted to stay in there longer. Being around Nishinoya makes me feel safer. He's so cute. I thought to myself if I liked Nishinoya. More then a friend. He's bisexual so I might have a chance but then that's only if he likes me. Man did I hold that urge in. The rain outside is getting way heavier then before. The word rain gave me a flashback of when Noya told me he's scared of storms. So I'm gonna stay in the hospital after everyone's done seeing him. When should I ask out Nishinoya? I have to do it this year though. Otherwise this may be my last yeat I get to see Nishinoya daily. I can do this. I believe in myself.

(A hour later. After everyone's done seeing Nishinoya)

Sugawara: "I'm going home"

Everyone agreed to going home but I sat there in silence.

Daichi: "Asahi, you going home too?"

Asahi: "No, sorry. I'm going to stay with Nishinoya because I know how much he hates storms"

Daichi: "Alright. Stay safe Asahi. Make sure Noya stays okay too!"

Asahi: "Will do"

Daichi: "Cya"

Asahi: "Bye"

I got up and went straight into Nishinoya's room. He was starring into the blue.
