They entered a loft buzzing with energy. Five boys and three girls were laughing, jumping, and having fun. But the moment Ethan stepped in, everything went silent.
Ethan raised a hand. A subtle signal. The group immediately left the loft, clearing the space.
Jackson frowned. “Wait… what’s going on?”
Ethan moved toward Damon, grabbing him roughly. Talia stepped forward. “Don’t resist,” she ordered firmly.
Jackson’s eyes widened. “Wo—wo! What are you doing? Wait!”
Talia smiled faintly. “Watch and learn.”
Ethan began punching Damon—not to kill, but enough to make him feel extreme pain.
Damon groaned, clutching his side.”Whoa what are you doing?!”
Jackson turned to Talia. “Getting him to turn”She explained calmly, “There are different kinds of werewolves. Some stronger than others. Alphas are the strongest. Then omegas. Betas follow them. Omegas and betas travel in packs led by alphas. The betas… they are the children of the pack.”
Jackson’s jaw dropped trying not to watch his friend’s face getting pummeled. “Wait… so Ethan is an alpha?”
Talia shook her head. “No. We are both omegas. Alphas are rare. Omegas lead the betas in the absence of an alpha.”
Minutes passed. Ethan’s blows continued, relentless. Jackson checked his watch, grimacing. “How long is this going to take? His face… doesn’t look good.”
Talia waved it off. “It’s okay. We can heal.”
Damon clenched his teeth. When Ethan struck him again, Damon slammed his fist into the ground with a surge of strength. Ethan was thrown back. Jackson did the same instinctively. Talia smiled faintly, impressed.
Ethan staggered, shocked. Jackson turned to him. “I knew it,” Talia said, quietly.
Ethan’s eyes widened in terror. “You’re… an alpha. The rarest of our kind.”
Damon’s cold blue eyes met Jackson’s. Together, they glared at Ethan.
Ethan wrapped his hands around his head. “No… no… no!” he muttered, voice shaking.
Talia stepped forward, concern in her voice. “What’s wrong, brother?”
Ethan pointed at Jackson and Damon. “You knew this would happen!”
Talia nodded slowly. “Yes. I knew… ever since he killed Uncle Leo.”
Ethan froze. “He… killed Uncle Leo?”
Jackson stepped forward. “Wait. Who the hell is Uncle Leo? “You need to leave”Ethan snapped. You just beat up my friend—now you want us to leave?” Jackson protested
Ethan’s voice was sharp, almost trembling. “I’m sorry, Damon… but both of you get out. Now.”
Jackson and Damon hesitated. The air around them seemed to vibrate with tension.
Talia watched silently, disappointment flickering across her face.
As they left, Ethan moved with speed to his sister.
“Don’t look at me,” Talia said softly. “I did what I had to… so they wouldn’t come after our pack. We need an alpha…”
“You think I don’t know that?” Ethan shouted. “He killed Uncle Leo!”
Talia’s voice was calm but firm. “Uncle Leo was dying… and he let Damon finish it. Like it or not, brother, we need Jackson and Damon.”
Ethan’s eyes went wide, realization dawning. “He did what?”
Talia nodded. “Yes. And that’s the truth. Whether you like it or not, they are part of what comes next.”
Damon was bleeding badly, his breathing shallow and uneven. Jackson’s hands shook while trying to wrap bandages around Damon’s side.
“Okay… okay… don’t die on me, dude,” Jackson muttered, trying to sound calm even though panic was written all over his face. “If you die, I’m suing you for emotional damage.”
Damon tried to smirk but pain shut him up.
Jackson lifted him up, throwing Damon’s arm over his shoulder. “We’re going to Professor Raymond. He has to know something… or I swear I’m switching schools.”
They started toward the professor’s house, the night quiet… too quiet.
Then the air changed.
Cold.
Heavy.
Wrong.
From the shadows, a tall figure stepped out, smiling like he’d already won. His eyes glowed icy blue, piercing through the darkness. He muttered something in fluent Italian toward Damon, like he’d known him forever.
Then his voice shifted, deep and dangerous.
“Found you.”
Jackson swallowed. “Please tell me that’s a friendly neighborhood Italian uncle…”
The Alpha’s presence was suffocating. Power rolled off him like a storm. Jackson raised his hand, whispering his spell, but the Alpha swatted the magic away like it was nothing.
Then, from behind—
A blur of fur and motion.
Talia and Ethan appeared.
Their bodies trembled.
Bones shifted.
Muscles stretched.
It wasn’t just a change; it was a violent evolution. Their backs arched as their spines realigned. Fingers curled and elongated, joints popping, fur rushing over their skin like shadows wrapping them. Their breathing turned into growls as their human shapes exploded into towering wolves. Power surged around them as their eyes blazed with animal fury.
In seconds—
They weren’t human anymore.
They were werewolves.
They attacked the Alpha, claws clashing, teeth snapping, ground shaking beneath them. The fight was brutal. The Alpha was strong. Too strong
Jackson knew what he had to do.
He grabbed Damon and dragged him toward the car.
“Buddy, this is the part where we leave because HE—” Jackson pointed back, “—is clearly not here for me. I’m not main character material yet!”
They reached the car. Damon’s hand brushed the door handle—
The Alpha lunged.
His jaw clamped into Damon’s shoulder.
Damon screamed.
Jackson punched the Alpha in the face. “NOPE! HE IS NOT ON THE MENU!”
Talia and Ethan pulled the Alpha away, giving Jackson enough time to shove Damon into the car and speed off.
They burst through Professor Raymond’s door.
The professor rushed over immediately, eyes widening when he saw Damon.
“What happened?!”
Jackson spoke fast, words tumbling over one another.
“There was this dude—glowing blue eyes—Italian villain energy—bit Damon—tried to turn me into mashed potatoes—wolves everywhere—we need help before my best friend turns into dead spaghetti!”
Professor Raymond didn’t laugh.
His face went pale.
He knelt beside Damon and froze when he saw the bite.
“Jackson… which wolf bit him?”
“An incredibly powerful alpha,” Jackson replied, still panicking. “Tall, scary, probably never smiles.”
Fear struck the professor’s face instantly.
He whispered, “This is bad… really bad.”
“Bad like ‘needs hospital,’ or bad like ‘oh no Damon’s gonna sparkle’!?” Jackson yelled.
The professor shook his head solemnly.
“Wolves who have never fully transformed… don’t survive Alpha bites.”
Silence.
Jackson whispered, voice breaking, “There has to be something… please…”
The professor took out his phone.
“I know someone… someone who treats beings like Damon.”
Minutes later the door opened.
A man walked in.
Damon’s blurred eyes barely focused.
His boss.
Fred.
He moved with experience, checking Damon, muttering under his breath, working fast. Damon’s vision dimmed…Then darkness.
Fred then picked up his hand for pulse signals. Paused a little the held out his arm then…..snap Fred broke Damon arm.”Whoa Whoa what are you doing like his injuries aren’t severe enough” “It’s okay it heal trigger the healing process” not so long did the injuries starts healing till it appears like he wasn’t hurt at all “Would you look at that” Jackson sighed “incredible” the professor with his eyes widened
Damon woke up.
Breathing normally.
Pain… gone.
He sat up slowly.
Everyone was staring.
Jackson gasped dramatically. “He lives! My emotional support best friend survives!”
The bite mark remained on Damon’s shoulder, glowing faintly like a curse.
Fred stood beside him. Calm. Serious.
“I come from a long line of doctors who treat supernaturals,” he explained.
Jackson squinted.
“So you sell antiques by day… and heal monsters by night. Wow. I feel so normal.”
Fred continued, “Your body healed because of your werewolf blood. But the Alpha bite… it stays. Which means one thing.”
He looked Damon in the eyes.
“You’re going to have to transform.”
Jackson spread his hands. “Into what?! A fluffy golden retriever?! How does he just turn?”
Ethan answered quietly.
“A werewolf only transforms with purpose. With a reason.”
Fred nodded.
“And the Alpha who bit you… he’ll come back. They always come back.”
Talia and Ethan stepped forward.
“We’ll protect him,” they said together.
Jackson turned to them.
“Oh wow, fantastic. You two do know he nearly folded you like paper earlier, right?”
Then something dropped.
Raymond mentioned it casually.
“He needs more protection… he’s not just any wolf. Damon is… an Alpha.”
Silence.
Even air stopped moving.
Fred’s expression hardened with worry.
Professor Raymond smiled slightly. “Rare… the rarest among wolves.”
Fred didn’t smile.
“Rare also means hunted.”
Talia and Ethan bowed their heads.
“We’ll protect him with everything we have.”
Later…
Damon spoke privately with Fred.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
Fred sighed.
“Because once you knew… the world would never be normal again. And I knew what you were the moment you walked into my shop. You’re the true one. The chosen wolf.”
Damon froze.
That same sentence…
The same words spoken to him before…
It all connected.
Destiny wasn’t coming.
It had already found him.
And now…
The Alpha wanted him.
