CHAPTER 5

  I went to school early that morning but was so weak; I couldn't still find my phone.

I laid on the locker, daydreaming about surreal illusions and getting my phone back.

English teacher came was in the class, but I smelt no focus. I glanced at Liam but he was staring concentrated at the teacher.

" Chloe??" The teacher was gazing at me.

I stood, lowering my head.

" You don't seem alright.i Are you sick?" She asked.

" No,ma."

She then nodded," Okay then.Take your time!"

I sat, feeling more tensions.

Milo tapped me," Hey..." 

I glanced back at him," Are you alright?"

" I'm fine" I whispered and turned front.

Is there any need telling them that I lost my phone? Probably,no.

The English lesson was over and recess period came over.

Lily waved at me, while I laid still on the locker," What's wrong with you? Are you okay?" 

" Yes, I'm fine." I whispered and looked away.

She tapped me," Don't worry. I and Milo will buy you lunch. We're coming back right now. Bye!" 

Then, the thuds of her footsteps slowly vanished as she left.

I slightly opened my eyes and saw Liam .He was still sitting.

" Aren't you going out for lunch?" I asked him.

 He said nothing but pulled out something from his locker,"Don't be careless!" He threw my phone at me and left.

I widened my eyes, watching him leave. Was he rude now? I thought he was really nonchalant...Was Lily saying the truth? No!

I glanced at my phone. It was the same way it was. No scratch, no change. I really needed to compensate him. Yes!

I ran out of the class happily to find him, but I unexpectedly bumped into him in the balcony.He held me this time from falling.

Why was it always him?

I nervously pulled out of his grasp and smiled at him," Thank you for saving my phone. It's actually...my life!"

He looked away, but I saw him smirked a little. First time I saw his bright look. He tried to leave, but I confronted him, smiling," Hey,how do I compensate you?"

"It's not worth compensating!" He tried to leave, but I confronted him again like a little puppy.

" I am really sorry for the way I acted yesterday. I know you still remember me, and you are kind, even though you pull a long face!" I grinned," So... can we be friends again?"

He gazed at me for a while and smirked, then walked away. I sighed, letting him go.

I widened my eyes, feeling kind of light-hearted," Did he accepted the friendship?" I scratched my head and turned to walk back into the class but Lily and Milo had confronted me, as if they saw everything which happened.

Milo clapped, staring suspiciously at me,

" Wow. Wow. Wow. I can feel the closeness between a bad boy and a naive girl, just like the one I read in romantic stories!"

I hitted Milo on his chest," Stop it. We're just friends!"

Lily chipped in, raising her eyebrows," Just friends? I knew it! Now, you have the chance to ask him about his Zodiac sign!" She patted me," Go for it, girl!"

" So...you both saw everything?"I stuttered, a bit nervous. I thought no one was watching.

" We saw and heard every bit of everything!" Milo smirked," Hehehehe, our gamerbaby is in love!"

" I'm not in..."

Lily placed her finger on my lips," We got your back! Say no more."

I frowned and brushed her finger away.

" So you haven't been happy because your phone was missing? And when he gave you, you felt on top of the world, right?" Milo teased.

" For now, I'm happy that I can play games. .." I snapped.

  "Have you compensated your vanguard?" Lily asked so easily.

  I glanced at her, widening my eyes, "Vanguard? Is

  it Liam?" 

  Lily nodded "Um-hum"

  "C'mon, you have to prove your friendship to him. 

  I can't wait to watch this oncoming drama!" Milo had

  rolled his eyes.

  "He said I shouldn't compensate him. I whispering

  glancing at them, each by each. "Why do you think?"

  Lily shrugged. "Just go for It, then."

  "Yeah" Milo agreed.

  I left the class and stood of the balcony, just to

  find Liam because he wasn't in the class. I Spotted him

  in the school orchard and decended the stairs.

  I stood quetly beside him, thinking of one reasonable thing to say, as the wind from the acacia tree calmed our aura.

  "What are you doing here?" He asked, without torn

  ing at me as if he knew I would find him There.

  Oh, predictable me !

  I grinned, "Just came to spend some time with you here"

  "I See,"He muttered in his usual, hoarse vorce that

  terrified me, at times.

  I sat some meters away from him, peering of him - admiring his cute eyes that always focused and never diverted, his chiseled jawline that mused me right from our childhood times.

  I still wordered how he grew fall and more stunning than he was ten years ears ago. But I can't still believe I would sit be sitting Closer him now, as friends.

  "What are you staring at ? "Those words from the

  terrifying voice pulled me away from my reverie

  and thoughts. 

  "You look more handsome than you were before" I told him smiling.

 He suddenly began coughing; his eyes grew reddish. Does he has fever or???
