Power play and pillow talk

Quackity PoV

Today was chaos.

The casino had been packed from the second I logged on. Arguments over bets, people accusing each other of cheating, someone trying to rob the prize vault like I wouldn’t notice. I’d spent hours running damage control, negotiating deals, pretending I wasn’t one insult away from banning half the server.

By the time I finally leaned back in my chair, exhausted, I glanced at the clock.

9 PM.

I frowned.

There was this nagging feeling in my head. Like I’d forgotten something important. Something… scheduled.

I stared at the ceiling of the casino office.

No. If it were important, I’d remember. Probably.

Two more hours passed while I finished paperwork and reorganized inventory. When I finally shut everything down and checked my messages, I realized my mistake immediately.

Over twenty notifications.

Twenty.

My stomach dropped.

Sapnap: Hey Quackity where the fuck are you?

Sapnap: Hello??

Sapnap: Bro

Sapnap: Don’t tell me you forgot

Sapnap: QUACKITY.

I unmuted the chat.

Quackity: What happened why are you guys spamming me?!

Sapnap: Did you forget?

Quackity: Forget what?

Sapnap: You dumbass it’s the monthly server game night!!

My heart stopped.

Oh no.

Quackity: Shit I forgot I will be there in a minute

Sapnap: Alright be back soon

Game night.

The one night of the month where we didn’t fight. Didn’t scheme. Didn’t betray each other. The only night where everyone agreed to temporary peace.

And I almost missed it.

I grabbed my gear and teleported out of the casino without even locking the doors.

Dream PoV

Sapnap told us Quackity was on his way.

Finally.

We’d been waiting almost two hours. Technoblade was sharpening his sword dramatically for attention. George was complaining. Sapnap was pacing.

I was just amused.

When Quackity finally appeared in the clearing, slightly out of breath, armor half-adjusted, I couldn’t help it.

“Look who finally decided to show up.”

He shot me a look that could have burned through netherite.

If it wasn’t server game night, he probably would have tried to kill me on sight.

“Haha very funny, Dream,” he said flatly.

That annoyed tone? My favorite.

“Well, since you’re finally here,” I continued, folding my arms, “let’s continue.”

Technoblade stepped forward.

“Hmm. Hey Quackity. Truth or dare?”

Quackity didn’t hesitate. “Dare. Obviously.”

I rolled my eyes. Predictable.

Technoblade tilted his head slightly. “I dare you and Dream to do a PvP contest.”

Easy.

“Let me finish,” Techno added calmly. “Each player must answer a truth question before each hit landed. Miss? You spill a secret. Land a hit? You force your opponent to reveal something.”

Silence fell over the group.

Then George wheezed. “Oh this is evil.”

Quackity smirked at me. “Now this is what I call a challenge. Prepare to lose, Dream.”

“You’re on."

No One’s PoV

The arena was cleared in seconds.

Everyone backed up. The energy shifted instantly. What had started as a peaceful game night now felt like a war waiting to happen.

Dream moved first.

Fast. Clean. Controlled.

Quackity matched him with aggression, swinging harder than necessary, taunting between steps.

They circled.

Sapnap yelled, “Question first!”

Dream stopped just short of striking distance.

“Quackity,” he said smoothly, “what’s something you’d never admit out loud?”

Quackity scoffed. “You first.”

“I landed the first move,” Dream replied.

“Answer.”

A pause.

“…I hate losing.”

Dream grinned. “That was weak.”

Then he lunged.

Quackity dodged — barely — and countered.

Missed.

The crowd erupted.

“SECRET!” George yelled.

Quackity clenched his jaw.

“Fine. I once rewrote a whole speech three times because I thought Dream might hear it.”

The silence that followed was louder than the cheering.

Dream’s eyebrows lifted slightly.

“Oh?” he said softly.

Quackity immediately attacked again, faster this time. He landed a clean hit.

The rules were clear.

Dream had to answer.

Quackity didn’t hesitate. “Have you ever thought about me outside of the server?”

That hit harder than the sword.

Dream didn’t look away.

“…Yes.”

No smirk. No joke.

Just yes.

The energy shifted.

Quackity blinked.

The next exchange was messy. Neither of them fully focused. Quackity swung too hard.

Missed.

Sapnap cackled.

“Truth time, Quackity. Have you ever thought about Dream that way?”

That way.

Everyone knew what that meant.

Quackity froze.

For just a second.

That second cost him everything.

Dream struck. Clean. Final.

Game over.

The clearing went silent except for distant laughter and someone dramatically yelling

“OH MY GOD.”

Dream stepped closer.

“You lose,” he said quietly.

Quackity tried to recover. “Yeah? So what?”

“And I just thought of the perfect punishment.”

Later

The rules of server game night were strict.

No violence outside challenges. No revenge kills. No traps.

But dares?

Dares were binding.

Technoblade raised an eyebrow. “What’s the punishment?”

Dream didn’t take his eyes off Quackity.

“One week.”

The group leaned in.

“Quackity stays in my bunker for seven days.”

The noise that followed was immediate chaos.

“No way.”

“Are you serious?”

“That’s not fair.”

“Oh that’s evil.”

Quackity stared at him.

“You’re joking.”

Dream smiled.

“Am I?”

The bunker wasn’t dangerous. It wasn’t a prison.

But it was isolated.

Underground.

Just the two of them.

No one interfering.

No distractions.

One week of proximity.

Technoblade crossed his arms. “Dare was PvP. Punishment stands.”

Sapnap looked between them like he’d just witnessed the start of something catastrophic.

Quackity straightened.

“Fine.”

Dream’s smile sharpened.

“Good.”

Dream’s Bunker — Night One

The silence was unbearable.

The bunker was quiet except for the faint crackle of torches.

Quackity sat on the opposite side of the room, arms crossed, pretending not to notice Dream watching him.

“You hesitated,” Dream said eventually.

“Shut up.”

“You did.”

Quackity rolled his eyes. “It was a stupid question.”

“Was it?”

Dream stepped closer.

“You froze.”

Quackity stood up instantly. “You think you’re funny?”

“No,” Dream said calmly. “I think you’re terrible at hiding things.”

The air felt heavy.

“You admitted you think about me,” Quackity shot back. “Don’t act superior.”

Dream didn’t deny it.

That was worse.

“I don’t lose,” Dream said quietly. “And I don’t lie when I don’t have to.”

Quackity swallowed.

Seven days.

Seven days of this.

Of tension. Of honesty forced through game rules. Of secrets they both almost revealed.

Dream moved toward the ladder leading deeper into the bunker.

“Try not to lose sleep,” he said lightly.

Quackity scoffed.

But that night, staring at the ceiling of Dream’s underground base, listening to the quiet echo of footsteps above him…

He didn’t sleep.

And he knew exactly why.
