Margot's POV

The second semester began. I was again in full enthusiasm of topping this semester too. But I can't focus! It's so hot in here. Celing fans only seems to be producing wierd sounds instead of cooling us down. "I wanna go home" Treesa, my best friend, exclaimed with gloom. "Yeah the sun in really releasing all his frustration on us." I added. I laid my head down on table and my eyes went towards him again. He was writing his notes down. The boy who had been making me feel this way is Mateo. No doubt, he was handsome and quite friendly with senior boys. He was an average student but very good in sports and had a great hand in mischief. According to teachers and everyone else he was a bad boy and an indisciplined child who doesn't care about anyone. But.. whenever he looked at me. It didn't seem that he was careless. The expression on his face while looking at me were so relaxed, so soft. Those eyes were stuck with me. I wanted those eyes looking at me for my whole life. He seemed rude to everyone but it seemed like only I am the one to whom he had shown his softer side. All these thoughts led to only one question "Do I love him?"He..is...cute.." A voice came in my ears. But it was not from me it was from Treesa. "Looks like someone is in love" Treesa said teasingly. "What no. I am not" I said. Treesa added "Well you don't have to speak, your eyes say everything when you look at him. Margot, you can't hide it from me. Tell me." "I don't know" I spoke. And I asked Treesa,"Do you like someone?" She said, "No. Not for now but I hope I will find a prince charming." " Wishing same for you." I spoke. Our chit chatting was interrupted by Bella.

Bella : Hey guys! Do you know a student from section B is being transferred in our section.

Treesa : Ahh! I don't like students from section B. They carry an unnecessary attitude with them.

Me : And why is the student being transferred?

Bella : Who cares? The only thing that is amazing that he is a boy. Hehe

Treesa : Oh poor bella. Dogs bark at you. Cats grown after seeing you. What do you expect from humans?

Bella : Well humans get attracted to me not animals

Me : I hope this boy isn't that smart to held me back from topping.

Bella, Treesa : Cmon Margot!!

And yes the moment came. The boy transferred was Alex and he was top 2 in section B. Well great surprise for me. Seemed like I had to go through more competition now. "He's not handsome" Bella said with a sad face. "Stop bella, you can't judge someone with their looks." I spoke. Alex settled himself in the class. He was already friends with boys in our class so wasn't hard for him to get along in no time.

Everything was going fine. Days were passing normally in a pace but these summers were beating the shit out of us. It was becoming hard to pass these days. Focusing became more hard. But this wasn't the thing bothering me. The thing that was acting like a knife in my heart was Alex! He was smart! His homework was completed everyday. He had a good handwriting. His all test were a 10. A fear of losing from him began to strike my heart. His marks on test paper seemed to take my trophy with them. " I have to study more" I spoke. "Huh!? Why?" Treesa questioned. "This alex is becoming like a head ache to me." "C'mon girl. These are just exams. A single piece of paper can't decide your future." She spoke giving me hopes. "Well this piece of paper will decide the owner of trophy" I spoke while looking at Alex.

A hand from back with a toffy on it came towards me. "Well trophy seems out of budget but toffees aren't."Bella said۔ "I will win the trophy and the one eating toffees will be alex." I said while picking up toffee from her hand and eating it. The toffee was tasty though.
