episode 3:The Traitor’s Shadow

The rain had stopped.

But the city still smelled like smoke.

Hana stood on the rooftop of an abandoned building, wind tugging at her dark hair as she stared down at the streets below. Pier 17 had been a setup. That much was clear.

But not by Kyung.

By someone inside.

“Thinking too loudly again?”

His voice came from behind her — calm, smooth, dangerous.

Kyung stepped beside her, hands in his coat pockets, eyes scanning the city like he owned it.

Maybe he did.

“They knew the exact time,” Hana said quietly. “The exact location. That message wasn’t random.”

“No,” Kyung agreed. “It wasn’t.”

Silence stretched between them.

“Someone close to you?” he asked.

Hana’s jaw tightened.

There were only three people who knew about her movements last night.

And one of them had gone missing after the pier attack.

Jisoo.

Her closest ally.

Her friend.

Later that night, Hana moved through the underground club owned by Cheon Group. Music pulsed through the walls. Lights flashed. Laughter echoed.

But underneath it all was tension.

Jisoo stood near the VIP section, dressed elegantly, smiling too easily.

Hana watched her from across the room.

Jisoo didn’t look like someone carrying secrets.

But neither did traitors.

Kyung’s words echoed in her mind:

“Loyalty is tested in fire.”

Hana walked forward.

“Funny,” she said casually, stopping in front of Jisoo. “You disappeared pretty fast last night.”

Jisoo’s smile didn’t falter. “I was scared. There were explosions, Hana.”

“You weren’t answering your phone.”

“I lost it.”

Too quick. Too smooth.

Hana stepped closer.

“You told someone about Pier 17.”

For the first time, Jisoo’s eyes flickered.

Just for a second.

But it was enough.

Before Hana could react, the club lights suddenly cut out.

Darkness swallowed the room.

Screams erupted.

Gunshots cracked through the air.

Chaos exploded.

Hana ducked instantly, pulling a stunned Jisoo down behind the bar counter.

“This wasn’t me!” Jisoo whispered, panic finally breaking through her mask.

From the entrance, silhouettes moved through smoke.

Not random attackers.

Organized.

Precise.

Kyung appeared through the flashing emergency lights, calm as ever, walking straight through the chaos like it bent around him.

His gaze locked onto Hana.

“This,” he said coolly, “is what happens when someone talks.”

Another explosion rocked the club.

Hana’s heart pounded.

Was Jisoo the traitor?

Or were they both being played?

As masked men advanced toward the VIP section, Hana made a choice.

She grabbed Jisoo’s wrist.

“Run.”

Because until she saw proof with her own eyes—

She wasn’t ready to call her friend a traitor.

And somewhere in the smoke and fire…

Someone was watching.

Smiling.
