About the chapter, I didn't like that Alaric lied to him but given Alaric's personality he must have his reasons. Also, He said that the things with his uncle ended early so it's not that he lied, more like he didn't tell the whole thing but I wish in the future he wouldn't be like this 'cause you know these things hurt, I like transparency in a relationship more that honesty( I read it somewhere and since then I kept it in my mind). And it was so beautiful 🤌🏻 how Alaric referred to the problem as 'OUR' reather then his or 'what's the problem?'✨✨✨ I ,also, believe that the teddy bear is the one having a camera as you mentioned in the early chapters that Alaric installed one in his room. I wish Elian to pour all his feelings out to that teddy bear and Alaric ends up listening to them, so then, he will know the truth, console and clear their misunderstandings and will give him time to say those things ( he won't feel insecure then as he will already know at that time what Elian feels). ✨✨✨
