In Love With The Fallen Star
Lianna Kim, the infamous socialite, and heiress was the talk of the town. She's not a celebrity but paparazzi and journalists would always follow her around hoping to get a glimpse of her luxurious lifestyle. Companies would try and take her in as a model since every time she wears or uses something, it would instantly sell out within a matter of seconds. She was like the goddess of every man and the role model of every woman in the country.
But she had one big secret that no one ever knows except her parents. She was a fan of an almost faded out idol group.
"My lady?"
"Ahh, yes?" she said as she snapped out from her thoughts.
"Your father would like to see you," the butler.
She stood up from her chair and fixed her dress.
"Where is he?" she asked.
"At his office, my lady," the butler said as he led her to the private elevator to which leads directly to the President's office.
"Thank you. I'll take it from here," she smiled as the elevator closed.
She sighed. Her father's been acting quite odd these days ever since her mother accepted another acting job.
"Daddy? You called for me?" she asked as soon as she entered her father's office.
"Ahh, you're here. Your uncle asked me to manage his company for 3 months and I've been getting overly stressed with it. Would you mind if I ask you to take over his company?" he asked as he brushed his hair back.
She smiled. So that was it. That was the reason why her dad's been acting odd these past few days.
"Sweety. I'm so sorry. But would you mind?" he asked. "The company's been going downhill for the last 2 years and you know what happened with your Aunt."
She walked to him and hugged his frustrated dad. Her father has always been trying to help his siblings in any way he can but with his huge business empire, he can't possibly manage another company that was about to go bankrupt.
"Is that the reason why you look so anxious after mother took on another role?" she asked as she sat down on the sofa.
"One of the reasons," her father confessed. He knew that his wife wouldn't just sit still if ever a wonderful script comes across her hands and he accepted that even though it weighed on his heart that he wouldn't see her every day because of her shooting schedules.
"I wouldn't mind daddy. But first I'll need to familiarize with Uncle's company first. Which company is it?" she asked.
"Here," her father said as he handed her a portfolio.
She got surprised as soon as she opened the folder.
Galaxy Entertainment. The company that manages Thunder, the group she has always idolized. Well, to be exact, the group where her idol belongs.
Galaxy Entertainment was one of the biggest entertainment companies in the country and still is. The difference is they don't like to manage idols anymore ever since the incident with one of their idols. They only manage models and actresses and actors now.
"I'll take the job, dad. Don't worry," she smiled.
"Really?" he asked. He never doubted his daughter's skills in managing a company. It was the reason why her grandfather chose her as the successor of the Kim Group of companies instead of her older cousin who is always out of the country to party. But she was always choosy with whatever work that was handed to her.
"Yep. The company's still thriving and is successful," she said as she flipped through the papers. "And besides... they're managing them."
"You're still into them?" her father asked as he took his seat.
"Yes. But don't worry. I won't get my emotions to get in the way of work. You know my work ethics dad," she said. "I'll start working tomorrow. But there's one thing I'd like to ask from you before I start."
"Sure sweetheart. Tell me," he said.
"I'd like to borrow Eunsoo from you," she smiled. Ryom Eunsoo was her father's elite secretary. He pledged his loyalty to Kim Taeho, Lianna's father. But recently, he has been sticking with Lianna and assisting her with whatever she does. He became a loyal dog around Lianna.
"Oh, isn't he yours?" her father asked.
"What do you mean?" she asked back.
"He stopped following me around when you started working here," he said.
"Oh, are you willing to give him up?" she asked.
"Well, since you're taking up most of my work, why not?" he smiled.
She laughed. Most children from rich families aren't really close with their parents. She was lucky that she got along with her father and mother really well.
"Well then, should I start the preparations?" she asked as she stood up.
"Alright then," he said.
As she stood up to leave, her father called her again.
"Lianna, thank you," he said before she entered the elevator but instead of responding, she smiled at her father.
