SUPERPOWER – PART 3: THE SHADOW OF THE PAST
Written by Kingson
Location: The City Rooftop. Midnight.
The wind howled across the buildings.
Lightning flickered faintly around Tony’s hands, bright and powerful.
Opposite him stood Loki.
The shadows around Loki stretched unnaturally across the rooftop floor, like living creatures waiting for a command.
Between them stood Sadie, her heart racing.
Three friends.
But the distance between them had never felt this large.
Sadie (worried):
“Loki… listen to yourself. This isn’t you.”
Loki didn’t answer.
Instead, he looked down at the dark city streets.
For a moment, his face looked… tired.
Not evil.
Just broken.
Tony stepped closer.
Tony:
“You’re angry. I get that. But hurting the world won’t fix anything.”
Loki slowly turned toward him.
His eyes were colder than before.
Loki:
“You still don’t understand.”
The shadows around him pulsed.
Loki:
“You think this world deserves saving.”
He laughed quietly.
Loki:
“I’ve already seen its true face.”
THE MEMORY
The rooftop suddenly grew darker.
The shadows around Loki spread across the ground… forming images.
Tony frowned.
Sadie whispered.
Sadie:
“Is he… showing us something?”
The darkness formed a memory.
A small house.
Rain falling outside.
A six-year-old boy sitting at a table, drawing with crayons.
Young Loki.
Inside the house, his mother smiled while cooking dinner.
She looked tired… but kind.
Young Loki ran up to her.
Young Loki:
“Mom! Look what I drew!”
She knelt beside him, brushing his hair.
Mom (smiling):
“It’s beautiful, Loki.”
For that moment…
Everything felt safe.
Everything felt normal.
THE NIGHT EVERYTHING BROKE
The door suddenly burst open.
A stranger stepped inside.
Angry. Drunk. Dangerous.
Young Loki froze.
His mother quickly stepped in front of him.
Mom:
“Please… leave.”
But the man didn’t listen.
The shadows trembled.
Tony clenched his fists.
Sadie covered her mouth.
The memory blurred slightly — Loki’s powers refusing to show every detail.
But the pain was clear.
The man attacked.
Young Loki screamed.
He watched helplessly as the person he loved most was hurt.
The room filled with chaos.
Fear.
And silence.
When it was over…
His mother lay on the floor.
Not moving.
The rain outside kept falling.
THE WORST PART
The memory changed again.
Police lights flashed outside the house.
Neighbours gathered in small groups.
But instead of comfort…
They whispered.
Neighbor 1:
“Maybe she had problems…”
Neighbor 2:
“I heard she was seeing someone…”
Neighbor 3:
“Who knows what really happened?”
Tony’s eyes widened.
Sadie shook her head.
Sadie:
“That’s horrible…”
Young Loki stood at the doorway, hearing everything.
His small hands trembled.
Nobody defended his mother.
Nobody cared about the truth.
They only cared about rumors.
That night…
A child didn’t just lose his mother.
He lost his faith in people.
BACK TO THE PRESENT
The memory faded.
The rooftop returned.
Loki stood silently, his eyes glowing faintly with darkness.
Tony looked stunned.
Tony:
“Loki… I didn’t know…”
Sadie’s voice trembled.
Sadie:
“You went through all that alone?”
Loki shrugged.
But the pain in his eyes betrayed him.
Loki:
“That’s the world you want to protect, Tony.”
He gestured toward the city.
Loki:
“A world that destroys people… and then blames the victims.”
The shadows around him grew stronger.
Loki:
“I was six years old.”
His voice dropped.
Loki:
“And that night, I learned something important.”
The darkness rose like a storm.
Loki:
“There are no heroes.”
Tony stepped forward, lightning crackling.
Tony:
“You’re wrong.”
Loki looked at him.
Tony’s eyes were determined.
Tony:
“With great power comes great responsibility.”
Lightning flashed brighter.
Tony:
“And I’m not going to let the world fall into darkness just because it hurt you.”
Silence filled the rooftop.
Then Loki smiled.
A sad… dangerous smile.
Loki:
“Then stop me.”
Thunder rumbled in the sky.
Light and darkness clashed in the air between them.
Sadie stood frozen between two friends who were about to become enemies.
One believed the world deserved hope.
The other believed the world deserved pain.
And tonight…
The first battle between Light and Darkness was about to begin.
TO BE CONTINUED……

Hey everyone! 👋
Part 3 dives into the heart of Loki—his past, his pain, and why he’s standing on the edge between darkness and friendship. 💀⚡
This chapter shows that villains aren’t born; they’re shaped by the world and the choices made for them—or against them. Loki’s childhood, his loss, and the way people treated him created the shadows he now commands.
Tony stands firm in hope and responsibility. Sadie is caught in the middle, the bridge between light and darkness. And now… the first real clash is coming. ⚡🌑
This isn’t just a battle of powers. It’s a battle of ideals, emotions, and the scars we carry. The question is: can friendship survive trauma? Can hope survive doubt?
Next part promises action, moral dilemmas, and the choices that will define these three friends’ destinies.
Stay ready—this is only the beginning of the Age of Superpowers. 🌌
