Behind the past

Morsara's eyes narrowed, her gaze piercing the shadows. Not a wild animal, then something more deliberate. She approached the wreckage, her movements economical, and spotted a small figure trapped beneath a splintered beam. A child, no less than ten winters old, with hair like spun gold and eyes that shone eyes of Eldurian in the dark.

Morsara kept a safe distance from the humans, her eyes fixed on the unconscious girl from afar. She had a nasty wound on her head, blood seeping into her golden hair. Morsara's gaze lingered, a flicker of... something like concern stirring within her.

In silence, she approached the wreckage, her steps soundless. She knelt beside the girl, her hands glowing faintly as she channeled a healing spell. The wound closed, the bruises faded, leaving the princess looking as though she'd merely fallen asleep.

Just as Morsara finished, the girl's eyes fluttered open. She caught Morsara's gaze, and for a moment, they locked eyes. Morsara's instincts screamed to flee, but she was too late. The girl had seen her.

Morsara whispered a swift spell, and her form began to blur. She vanished into the shadows, leaving behind only a faint whisper of wind.

Prince Aethon's search party arrived, their torches casting eerie shadows on the trees. He is the Crown Prince of Eldurian, Aethon is duty-bound and ruthless when it comes to protecting his kingdom. Cold, calculating, and driven, he stops at nothing to ensure Eldurian's safety and sees monsters as a threat to everything he holds dear.

The girl that Morsara save was the younger sister of Prince Aethon, Ashitine Del Eldurian. She's curious, brave, and kind. Unlike her brother, she sees the world with a mix of wonder and empathy. At 9 winters old, she's already showing a desire to help those in need a trait that'll get her into trouble one day.

The prince dismounted, his cold gaze sweeping the area. "Search the perimeter," he ordered, his voice firm. "Make sure it's safe."

As soldiers combed the woods, Aethon knelt beside his sister. Ashitine stirred, groggily opening her eyes. "Brother?" she whispered.

Aethon's expression softened, a rare glimpse of warmth. "I'm here, Ash. You're safe."

But his eyes narrowed as he took in the scene. The carriage wreckage, the dead soldiers... and Ashitine, unwound. "How...?" he murmured.

He turned to his men. "Find any signs of... anything. A monster, anything unusual." His voice was ice again.

The soldiers searched, but found nothing. Aethon's curiosity grow at him. " How had Ashitine survived, untouched?"

Aethon looked at his surrounding trying to find a clue about the accident, though he know that it wasn't really an accident. He saw some scratched in the carriage where Ashitine riding. A long scratch by a monster, delinquent and mysterious.

"How does this happened that Ashitine is unharmed while the soldiers are already dead? Ashitine can't use a magic but how does she's unharmed?" The thought in Aethon's mind.
