Chapter 2 – An Unexpected Meeting

The afternoon sun shone brightly over the busy streets of Milan. People moved quickly between offices, cafés, and shops. The city never seemed to slow down.

Inside a large office building, Luna Moretti sat at her desk, staring at her computer screen with a worried expression.

Her boss had just given her an important task.

“Luna,” her manager said earlier that morning, “you will deliver these design files to DeLuca Enterprises. Their company wants to collaborate with us.”

Luna almost dropped her coffee when she heard the name.

“D-DeLuca Enterprises?” she asked nervously.

Her coworkers immediately looked impressed.

“That company is huge!” one of them whispered. “Their CEO is famous.”

Luna sighed quietly.

“Great,” she muttered. “No pressure at all.”

A few hours later, Luna stood outside the enormous glass building of DeLuca Enterprises in Milan.

The building looked intimidating. Luxury cars were parked outside, and well-dressed employees walked confidently through the entrance.

Luna looked down at her outfit nervously.

“Okay Luna,” she whispered to herself. “Just deliver the files and leave. Easy.”

She stepped inside the building.

The lobby was huge and elegant. Marble floors, shining lights, and expensive decorations made the place look more like a palace than an office.

Luna approached the reception desk.

“H-hello,” she said shyly. “I’m here to deliver design files.”

The receptionist smiled politely.

“Please wait a moment.”

While Luna waited, the elevator doors suddenly opened behind her.

Several men in black suits stepped out first. They looked serious and alert.

Then a tall man walked out slowly.

The atmosphere in the lobby instantly changed.

Employees stood straighter. Conversations stopped.

Everyone seemed to notice him.

It was Alessandro DeLuca.

His sharp eyes scanned the room calmly as he walked forward. His dark suit and confident posture made him look powerful and intimidating.

Luna didn’t notice him at first.

She was busy trying to organize the papers in her hands.

Suddenly someone bumped into her shoulder.

“Oh!” Luna gasped.

The papers slipped from her hands and scattered across the floor.

“Oh no, oh no, oh no!” she muttered quickly as she knelt down to pick them up.

A shadow stopped in front of her.

Luna looked up.

Standing there was Alessandro DeLuca himself.

His cold eyes looked down at her.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

Luna’s heart began beating faster.

“Uh… sorry!” she said quickly, embarrassed.

Alessandro bent down slowly and picked up one of the papers.

His eyes glanced at the design sketch.

Then he looked at Luna again.

“You made this?” he asked in a calm, deep voice.

Luna nodded nervously.

“Y-yes.”

For a brief moment, something unusual crossed Alessandro’s normally cold expression.

Interest.

He handed the paper back to her.

“Interesting,” he said quietly.

Then he walked away.

Luna remained frozen on the floor.

“Wait…” she whispered to herself.

“Was that… the CEO?”

She had no idea that this small moment would soon change her life completely.

Because Alessandro DeLuca had just noticed her. ❤️📖
