Cold wind rushed through the broken windows of the abandoned warehouse as silence stretched between Kim Taehyung and the mysterious man standing before him.
The dim hanging light above them flickered slightly.
Taehyung’s mind was racing.
A traitor inside the organization.
The thought alone felt impossible.
The empire ruled by BTS had survived countless wars, betrayals, and enemies. Their inner circle was small, and trust between them was something they had built through years of loyalty.
Still…
Taehyung knew better than anyone that power always attracted betrayal.
He slowly crossed his arms, his sharp gaze fixed on the stranger.
“If what you’re saying is true,” Taehyung said calmly, “then give me proof.”
The man chuckled softly.
“I knew you would say that.”
He reached into his coat and pulled out a small flash drive.
Taehyung’s eyes narrowed slightly as the man placed it on a nearby wooden crate.
“This contains intercepted communications,” the stranger explained. “Someone from inside your empire has been feeding information to the organization you’re investigating.”
Taehyung stared at the flash drive but didn’t move to pick it up yet.
“And you expect me to believe you?” he asked coldly.
The man shrugged.
“You don’t have to.”
He stepped back slowly.
“But if you don’t check it… you might regret it.”
For a moment, the only sound inside the warehouse was the distant echo of the river outside.
Finally, Taehyung walked forward and picked up the flash drive.
It felt surprisingly heavy in his hand.
“If this is a trap…” Taehyung said quietly.
The man interrupted him with a grin.
“Then you walked into it willingly.”
Taehyung ignored the comment.
He slipped the flash drive into his pocket and turned toward the exit.
“Wait,” the man called after him.
Taehyung stopped but didn’t turn around.
“One more thing,” the stranger said.
Taehyung finally glanced back.
The man’s expression had changed slightly.
“Be careful who you trust.”
The warning hung in the air.
Taehyung didn’t respond.
A moment later, he walked out of the warehouse.
—
Outside, the night air felt colder than before.
Taehyung walked toward his car, unaware that a pair of eyes was watching him through the scope of a sniper rifle from a nearby rooftop.
The red laser dot hovered over his chest.
The sniper’s finger slowly tightened on the trigger.
“Target confirmed,” the sniper whispered into a headset.
Far away, in the underground control room filled with glowing monitors, the mysterious leader watched everything carefully.
Taehyung’s figure appeared clearly on the screen.
The man leaned forward in his chair.
“Not yet,” he said calmly.
The sniper froze.
“Sir?”
The leader’s lips curved into a slow smile.
“Let him live.”
The sniper lowered the rifle immediately.
“Understood.”
Back near the warehouse, Taehyung unlocked his car and sat inside.
He pulled out the flash drive again, staring at it thoughtfully.
Something about tonight felt strange.
The meeting had been too easy.
Too convenient.
Still, if the information inside was real, it could expose a dangerous traitor.
Taehyung started the engine and drove back toward the city.
But he didn’t notice the black car that quietly began following him from a distance.
Inside that car, two men watched him carefully.
“He took the drive,” one of them said.
The other smirked.
“Good.”
“Phase one is complete.”
—
Meanwhile, back in the underground control room, the mysterious leader leaned back comfortably.
The monitors showed multiple camera feeds.
One screen displayed Taehyung driving through the empty streets.
Another showed the mafia mansion in the distance.
The leader clasped his hands together slowly.
“Soon,” he murmured.
“They will begin to doubt him.”
His smile darkened.
“And when that happens…”
“The boy they trust the most will become their greatest enemy.”
The trap had been set.
And Kim Taehyung had just taken the first step into it.
To be continued....
