Chapter 5: GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

I feel like when we first met, I felt a bit scared and apprehensive because all I knew was that we were supposed to meet by chance on the night of the dance. I couldn't even eat my cake that was on my plate in my hand because of the tension that I felt, so I lowered my head.

"Do you know who and what am I to you?" he suddenly asked again.

I look directly to him with a trace of surprise and wonder cause who wouldn't be wondered about if your own father ask you like that when he literally knows the answer!? I nodded to him and for the second I keep quiet.

"Mm, you are the... You are... You are Duke Nathan Avaloria and my father!" I answer in joy.

At the end, I finally said it, so my heavy carried feelings has been relieved because of what I saw in my dreams.

Nathan's POV:

When I ask her, I thought that she didn't know me as a Duke and as her father because I didn't take care of her and raised her when Anastasia died however, I didn't expect that she would call me "Father". I stare at her eating her cake while I was sitting in crossed legs and my jaw rest in my hand, devouring the sweet smiles of Nephyllia even though I didn't let it be noticed. I missed Anastasia so much cause Nephyllia resembled her.

Flashback:

I remembered the times when I was with her by her side, we were so excited about our youngest child however, I didn't expect that she would sacrifice her own life just for Nephyllia to be born. I was so furious about her decision, so I'm not by her side when she gave birth and died, I order them to burn all of her things.

"Burn all of her things. There will no left any other pieces of her." I ordered to my servants with cold and furious tone.

Present Time:

When she has finally done eating her cake, she said goodbye to me because she's going back to her mansion to rest. When the night comes while I was asleep, I dream again about the events that I didn't want to recall and get back however, every night was my nightmare, I didn't even sleep well cause it keep haunting and visiting me in my dreams.

Nephyllia's POV:

I didn't expect that my Father would treat me like that cause in my dream, cold and his feelings for me are far away, he always shove me away and avoid me like I was just like a dust that was hated by everyone. He couldn't even introduce me to everyone, maybe because he was ashamed of me.

When that night, my thoughts were deep cause why the results are like that. "*In my dreams we were going to meet at the ball, right?" "Did I change the course of my fate?" "Will I experience the events in my dreams?" "Was it really a prophecy, or it was a warning*?" questions that was haunting me and questions that was so hard to find the answers. To make me avoid thinking about those questions, I just spent it drawing what happened to me earlier with Father, and it was just a passing time.

When drowsiness came upon me, I first counted the pouches under my bed and then lay down and dozed off. As the darkness enveloped my vision, events that I didn't know were true reappeared in my dreams.

In the day after, I has been woken up early by Felix to take me to my Father. I was so drowsed and keep yawning while Felix was carrying me in his arms.

"Felix, why did you wake me up this early? I'm still sleepy..." I said sleepily

"My apology Young Miss however, your Father ordered me. He wanted to see you."

"So... Where are we going?"

"In the garden, where Master drinking his tea"

He carried me while walking towards Father's garden. When he sighted my Father, he put me down from his arms and went to my Father's side. I stopped and stay in my place where I has been put down when I sighted my Father's expression, cold and terrifying like he was going to kill someone, he didn't look at me for a while because he's sipping his tea and he was still reading. When he saw me, the book suddenly disappeared from his hands. He smiled at me slightly, but it disappears when he saw the distance between where he was sitting and where I was standing.

Felix's nervous and scare was obvious in my Father's side because if his expression. I saw the granular and slowly drops of Felix's sweats, and his eyes were telling that he wanted me to walk towards them deliberately, so he could sigh in relief by my Father's side cause if I didn't come near his body will slowly be freezing.

"Why are you still standing there? Don't you wanted to see me?" my Father said calmly that it cause shivering through my spine.
