CHAPTER - 3 The Body Problem

Three days after the first meeting…

Lin Yue woke up.

For a few peaceful seconds she forgot everything.

“Yes.”

She slowly poured tea.

“No.”

“…Good.”

Awkward silence filled the hall.

Xie Rong kept adjusting his robes.

Fidgeting slightly.

“You saved me.”

“Just luck.”

She nodded proudly.

The disciples whispered.

Chu Mingyuan looked at her quietly.

Then said softly:

“…Thank you.”

Lin Yue blinked.

“You’re welcome.”

Chu Mingyuan added:

“I owe you a favor.”

Lin Yue’s eyes sparkled.

“A favor?”

“Yes.”

Her brain celebrated.

“THE MALE LEAD OWES ME A FAVOR.”

She grinned.

“Then you should visit again.”

The disciples: “???”

Chu Mingyuan paused.

“…Visit?”

Lin Yue poured more tea.

“We can drink tea.”

Long silence.

Then Chu Mingyuan nodded.

“…Alright.”

The disciples almost fainted.

Later that day,

Rumors spread across the cultivation world.

“Chu Mingyuan visited the Demon Palace.”

“They drank tea together.”

“The Demon Lord saved him.”

Sect leaders panicked.

“This is suspicious!”

Meanwhile Lin Yue lay on the bed staring at the ceiling.

“I’m surviving the story.”

She smiled proudly.

“I’m a genius.”

She had no idea…
