CHAPTER 4: “First Contact”

Night had fallen over the city.

Streetlights flickered.

People moved normally.

Everything looked… fine.

---

But Arnav suddenly stopped walking.

---

Kunal noticed instantly.

“You felt it too… right?”

---

Arnav nodded slowly.

A strange heaviness filled the air.

Cold. Unnatural.

---

“That same feeling…” Arnav said quietly.

---

Kunal’s eyes sharpened.

“The place beyond the door…”

---

Before they could say more—

A loud crash echoed through the streets.

---

People screamed.

Glass shattered.

---

Both turned toward the sound.

---

“Let’s go,” Arnav said.

---

They ran.

Fast.

---

---

⚠️ THE SCENE

---

When they reached the street—

Everything was chaos.

Cars were damaged.

Shops were broken.

Smoke filled the air.

---

And in the middle of it all…

Something stood.

---

Not human.

Not animal.

---

A dark creature.

Its body looked unstable, like it was glitching between worlds.

Its shape kept shifting slightly.

---

“What… is that?” Arnav whispered.

---

Kunal didn’t answer immediately.

He was observing.

Watching.

Analyzing.

---

“It’s not fully stable,” Kunal said finally.

“It doesn’t belong here.”

---

The creature suddenly turned—

And attacked a man trying to escape.

---

Arnav moved instantly.

---

He grabbed the man and pulled him away just in time.

---

“RUN!” Arnav shouted.

---

The man didn’t look back.

---

The creature let out a low, disturbing sound.

Then—

It rushed toward Arnav.

---

Fast.

Too fast.

---

“Arnav—move!” Kunal shouted.

---

Arnav reacted.

He stepped back—

---

The creature’s attack barely missed him.

---

“Speed is high,” Kunal said quickly,

“But it pauses for a moment after each attack!”

---

Arnav nodded.

---

“Then I hit during that moment.”

---

The creature attacked again—

---

Arnav focused—

---

His hand began to glow.

---

“Now…” Kunal said under his breath.

---

Arnav punched forward—

---

A burst of energy shot out.

---

It hit the creature directly.

---

BOOM.

---

The creature was pushed back.

Sliding across the road.

---

But it didn’t fall.

---

Instead—

It stood again.

Stronger.

---

“Not enough,” Kunal said calmly.

---

Arnav clenched his fist.

---

The creature rushed again—

Even faster this time.

---

“Kunal!” Arnav shouted.

---

“Left—NOW!” Kunal yelled.

---

Arnav moved instantly.

---

The creature missed again—

And just like before—

It paused.

---

Kunal’s voice became sharp,

“Three seconds! That’s your window!”

---

Arnav stepped forward—

---

Another energy attack—

Stronger.

---

It hit hard.

---

The ground cracked slightly.

---

The creature screamed.

---

But still…

It didn’t disappear.

---

Arnav stepped back, breathing heavily.

---

“It’s not dying…”

---

Kunal’s mind raced.

---

He looked around.

Searching.

Thinking.

---

Then—

He saw something.

---

Broken electric wires hanging near a damaged pole.

---

An idea formed instantly.

---

“Arnav!” Kunal shouted,

“Push it toward that side!”

---

Arnav didn’t question.

---

He moved forward again.

---

The creature attacked—

---

Arnav blocked with his energy—

---

The impact shook him.

---

But he held his ground.

---

Step by step—

He forced the creature backward.

---

“Kunal… now what?!” Arnav shouted.

---

Kunal grabbed one of the loose wires.

Sparks flickered.

---

“Timing,” Kunal said calmly.

---

The creature attacked again—

Missed—

Paused.

---

Kunal’s eyes locked in.

---

“NOW!”

---

Arnav released his strongest attack yet—

---

A powerful blast of energy—

---

The creature was thrown backward—

---

Straight into the exposed wires.

---

Electricity exploded.

---

Sparks flew everywhere.

---

The creature let out a loud, distorted scream.

---

Its body started breaking apart.

Glitching.

Distorting.

---

It couldn’t hold its form.

---

And then—

---

It vanished.

---

Silence.

---

Smoke filled the air.

---

Arnav stood still.

Breathing heavily.

---

His hand still glowing faintly.

---

Kunal dropped the wire slowly.

---

For a few seconds…

Neither spoke.

---

Then Kunal said quietly—

---

“That was just one.”

---

Arnav looked at him.

---

“More will come.”

---

People slowly returned.

Whispers filled the street.

Fear spread quickly.

---

“What was that thing?”

“Was that real?”

---

Kunal grabbed Arnav’s arm.

“We leave. Now.”

---

They walked away without looking back.

---

---

🌑 LATER THAT NIGHT

---

Both sat in silence.

---

Arnav stared at his hand.

---

“That thing…”

---

“It came from that place,” Kunal completed.

---

Silence.

---

Kunal leaned forward,

“That wasn’t random.”

---

Arnav looked at him,

“What do you mean?”

---

Kunal’s voice turned serious—

---

“It was testing something.”

---

Pause.

---

“Or someone.”

---

Arnav’s eyes darkened.

---

“Us.”

---

Kunal nodded.

---

“Yes.”

---

Silence filled the room again.

---

Then Arnav said—

---

“We get stronger.”

---

Kunal gave a small smile.

---

“Not just stronger…”

---

His eyes sharpened—

---

“Smarter.”

---

---

🌌 FINAL SCENE

---

Far away…

In that unknown place…

---

The dark presence moved slightly.

---

Watching.

---

Learning.

---

Waiting.
