Dear Diary,

So the thing is, curiosity got the better of me.

I found myself walking in the path towards the villa by the lake.

As you know, it started with a letter-no envelope,no return address. I assumed it was the neighbourhood kids again, trying to spook the "ghost lady" as they affectionately call me.

I found myself staring at the massive ,symmetrical frontage of weathered limestone, now with a stain of grey and green where decades of rain have run down the stone.

Dozens of tall, arched windows-some broken, while many still protected by heavy wooden shutters. A pair of oversized, dark oak doors with a tarnished brass knockers shaped like snakes.

Now, the Hamilton villa....

It feels so familiar, but I can't place it.

I vaguely remember it from my childhood -a crumbling estate at the edge of the town, lost in the woods, swallowed by vines of poison ivy, and drowned by all the echoes surrounding it.

The air felt different today, much heavier.

I found myself standing at the edge of the woods, a bit sceptic, but curious. I don't remember deciding to leave my home.

I don't even remember the walk here...
