Part 5: The Temptation

The room was quiet after Nyx left. Ethan was alone, but he felt different.

He was not just scared anymore.

He was thinking.

He was waiting.

She came back quickly.

This time, she looked more like the beautiful woman from the hospital, not the scary demon.

But her red eyes were still bright.

She walked up to him, very close.
"You said I care," she said. "You were brave to say that."
Ethan didn't move. "Was I wrong?"
She smiled a little. It was not a nice smile. It was a curious one.


"Maybe. Maybe not. I want to find out."

She put a hand on his chest, right over his heart.
"The Aion is inside you. It connects us. I want to feel that connection... directly. Not with magic. Not with fear."


Ethan's heart beat fast. "What do you mean?"
Her voice became very soft, like a secret. "I mean the way humans connect. Body to body. Skin to skin."

Ethan understood. She was talking about sex.
He felt shocked. This was a demon. She had hurt him. But he also felt that strange pull towards her.

He was afraid, but he was also curious.

"No tricks," he said, his voice firm. "No magic. Just you and me. As equals for now."


She looked surprised, then she nodded. "Okay. No magic."

She kissed him first. It was a hard kiss, not gentle. It felt like a challenge. Ethan kissed her back. He put his hands in her dark hair.

They moved to the floor. Their clothes came off quickly. The air was cold, but their skin was hot.



They were on the floor of the living room. Ethan was on top. He was between her legs. This position (missionary) let them look into each other's eyes.

Nyx wrapped her legs around his back. Her eyes were wide open, glowing red. She watched his face the whole time. Her hands held his shoulders tightly.

It was not slow or romantic. It was intense and fast. It felt like another kind of fight. A fight to see who would feel more. A fight to see who would break the connection first.

Ethan moved, and she moved with him. She didn't close her eyes. She kept staring into his, as if she was searching for something inside his soul.

For a moment, Ethan forgot she was a demon. He forgot about the Aion.

There was only this feeling—heat, pressure, and her red eyes pulling him in.

When it ended, it was sudden.

They both stopped at the same time. They were breathing hard, still looking at each other.

For a few seconds, Nyx's face changed.

The red glow in her eyes faded. She looked almost human—surprised, confused, and a little scared.

She saw something in him, and it scared her.

Then she quickly pushed him away. She stood up and got dressed fast, not looking at him.

"It changed nothing," she said, but her voice was shaky.


"That's a lie," Ethan said, still on the floor.
She didn't answer. She just looked at him one last time with those glowing red eyes. Then she turned into shadows and disappeared.

Ethan was alone again. His body was warm where she had touched him. His mind was full of new questions.

She wanted to test their connection. She used sex to do it. Now, they both felt something new. It wasn't love. It wasn't hate. It was a deep, dangerous knowing.

The game had changed. The hunt was different now. And Ethan knew one thing for sure: neither of them would ever be the same.
