CHAPTER 4: The Hidden Kingdom

 Lira hesitated.

Rain still fell around them, though lighter now, as if storm itself was beginning to fade. The stranger's hand remained extended, steady and certain, while her thoughts raced.

"Why should I trust you?" she asked, her voice still unsteady.

The stranger raised an eyebrow slightly, "I'm the only reason you're still alive right now."

Lira glanced at the empty forest where Kyle and the others vanished. The memory of the shadows pressing in on her still lingered like a nightmare she couldn't wake from.

"They'II come back, won't they?" she asked quietly.

"Yes," the stranger said without hesitation.

 Her stomach tightened.

"And next time," he continued, "they won't be testing you."

 Silence stretched between them.

Lira looked down at her for a moment, then sighed.

"Yeah," he said. "That's going to be a problem."

 Lira frowned. "That's not helpful."

He smirked faintly. "Honest rarely is."

He stepped back and gestured toward the deeper part of the forest.

"Look, we don't have time for this. If you stay here, you die. If you come with me you might live long enough to get some answers."

Lira hesitated only a moment longer.

 Then slowly, she nodded.

 "Okay."

 The stranger's expression softened---just slightly.

 "Good choice."

Before she could ask anything else, he reached out and grabbed her wrist.

 "Wait---what are you---"

 The world shifted.

Heat surged around them as flames spiraled outward---not burning, but bending reality itself. The air twisted, the ground beneath them dissolving into light.

 Lira gashed

 Everything disappeared.

For a brief, endless moment, there was nothing but silence and motion, like being pulled through a space that didn't exist.

 Then---

 They landed.

 Hard.

Lira stumbled forward barely catching herself as her senses struggled to return. The air felt different---lighter, charged with something she couldn't explain.

 She took a breath.

 And froze.

Before her stretched a kingdom unlike anything she had ever imagined.

Massive crystal towers pierced the sky, glowing softly with shifting colors. Floating island drifted above, connected by bridges of light. Waterfalls cascaded from impossible heights, their waters shimmering with magic as they vanished into the air before touching the ground.

Creatures soared through the sky---winged beast with radiant scales, birds made of fire and light.

 The entire world felt... alive.

"What..." Lira whispered, her voice barely audible. ":What is this place?"

The stranger stepped beside her, his gaze fixed on the horizon.

 "This," he said quietly,

 "Is Encantasia."

Lira shook her head, her mind struggling to catch up. "No... that's not real. Its just a story. A myth."

 "Not anymore," he replied.

She turned to him. "You're serious?"

 He met her gaze.

 "Very."

Her heart began to race again---but this time, not just from fear.

 From something else.

 Recognition.

"I've seen this place..." she murmured.

 The stranger's expression sharpened. "What?"

"In my dreams," Lira said slowly. "The towers... the light... I thought it was just my imagination."

He studied her carefully, then glanced at the glowing mark on her collarbone.

"Yeah," he said under his breath. "That makes sense."

Before Lira could press him further---

A deep, echoing horn sounded across the sky.

The ground seemed to vibrate with its power.

 The stranger stiffened instantly.

 "That's not good."

 Lira turned. "What is it?

 But she already felt it.

 A shift in the air.

The light around the kingdom dimmed slightly, as though something was pushing against it.

From the distant cliffs shapes began to emerge.

 Dozens.

 No---hundreds.

Armored figures poured out like a rising tide, their presence suffocating the brightness of Encantasia.

Lira's breath caught. "They found us..."

"Yeah," the stranger muttered. "Faster than I expected."

 The sky darkened unnaturally.

At the center of the approaching army, the ground split open,

Dark energy surged upward, twisting and spiraling like a living storm.

 And from it---

 A figure stepped forward.

 Tall. Calm. Unmoving.

He wore no armor, only a long black coat that seemed to absorb the light around him. His silver hair shimmered faintly, but his eyes...

 They were endless darkness.

Lira felt her entire body cold.

 "Who... is that?" she whispered.

 The stranger's jaw tightened.

 "That," he said quietly.

 "The shadow Prince."

The name echoed in her mind.

 The figure lifted his gaze---

 And locked onto her instantly.

A slow, knowing smile spread across his face.

"After all this time..." his voice echoed across the kingdom smooth and chilling.

 "You finally came home."

 Lira"s heart pounded.

"I don't know you!" she shouted, though her voice felt small against his presence.

 The Shadow Prince's smile widened.

"But I know you," he replied.

 He raised his hand.

The shadows behind him surged forward like a tidal wave.

 "Bring me the princess."

 The army moved as one.

The stranger stepped in front of Lira, flames igniting around him once more.

 "Stay behind me," he said.

 But Lira didn't move.

The mark on her collarbone burned brighter than ever.

Light gathered around her hands, trembling with raw, untamed power.

"I'm done running," she said, her voice steadier now.

The stranger glanced back at her, surprised.

 Then, slowly, he smiled.

 "Good," he said.

"Because this is where everything changes."

The Shadow Prince took a single step forward.

 And the war for Encantasia---

 Had just begun.
