CHAPTER ONE

Wrenley POV

I hurriedly took my bath and dress up, its first day of resumption I couldn’t afford to be late, I did my skin care, put on my moisturizer, make up. Put on my accessories and packed my hair in ponytail. I’m quite eager to resume grade eleven in a classic and expensive school, I picked my school bag and rushed to the kitchen and stuffed grilled steak and roasted vegetables and BBQ ribs and colossal slaw for snacks.

After taking thirty minutes to fully prepare I heard the blaring horn of the school bus. Then my thought shifted to phoebe, I haven’t seen her since I woke up. I ignored the waiting bus and dashed to phoebe room, and she was nowhere to be found, I started screaming her name still ignoring the screaming horn. One spirit told me to go and another told me to keep looking. I then started checking everywhere, from the laundry room, to the small living room to the deepest part of the house, but I still couldn’t find her. I then returned to the main living room and I couldn’t hear the school bus horn. I walked outside the compound with my school bag and I realized the school bus was gone. I sighed in distress as I begin to trek to school using the school map I had on my phone. As different thought were flowing in my head.

Where’s phoebe?

Have she gone already?

What if she’s in the house?

Should I have stayed and searched for her more?

I was interrupted by a motorbike sound, as I jerked up from thought and budge over. But the biker already slide and landed with his motorbike. I quickly rushed to see what happened.

“Aaargh!”

“I’m so sorry, I never saw you coming” The boy stood tall, removing his helmet as he faced me looking stern. I then recognized the uniform, he must be attending same school with me.

“ you’re just a shit, I was honing from afar, and you still couldn’t comprehend”

“You don’t have to be overly paranoid, I was just trailed off with thoughts” I said

“I’m overly paranoid, what if you were hit. I would've been charged for what I never caused. You should really be careful” he turned and ride off. I just hissed and continued my journey. It is really long and tedious as I walked past streets and streets. If I counted I have past like five streets.

Thirty minute later, I arrived at the school gate. Looking all rough, rumpled and tired. I knocked at the gate at as the security opened the gate for me, walking through the hall. I met with some group. “Hey, why are you late” they said fiercely making me to quiver in fear.

“ Ehm… uhm.” I stuttered

“ speak” one of them queried

“ I----- ehm ----i--- missed the school bus and finding my way to school was hard” I managed to say

“you are a newbie” one of them asked and I nodded.

“what grade”

“grade eleven” I replied

“go upstairs by your left the third class, nevertheless it is indicated” they said, and I thanked them and left.

Walking into the class, I found a teacher already tutoring as everyone eyes where piercing through my skin, I refused to look as I spotted my seat number as in my ID. And I sat nervously while the teacher continued tutoring. I brought out my desktop and took note. Scanning through the class for the first time I sighted phoebe.

Wait, what! Phoebe is in school I was interrupted by a teacher,

“The two new student here, I need ya’ to stand up and introduce yourselves. I stood up and phoebe followed suit.

“I’m wrenley connor, I’m eighteen and I ended year ten in folk stone high” I sheepishly said “I’m phoebe connor, I’m nineteen and I ended my last session in Beverly Hills high”

“ are you both siblings your surnames are same” the teacher remarked

"ye----“ I was about answering but phoebe chirp in,

“no, its simply a coincidence” she said as I looked at her in bewilderment.

“okay then, phoebe and wrenley I hope you both settle just fine and be of best behavior. And also, the advice I give my newbies I hope you don’t flaunt. I’m sure you got the time table and everything you need to settle in. I wish you best of luck. And before I forget, I’m Ms. Talia, have a nice day” she concluded and left.
