Web of Control

The music still echoed through the club, but for Jeon Jungkook, everything had narrowed down to one person.

“Still watching him?”

Min Yoongi spoke without looking away from the crowd.

Jungkook didn’t respond immediately.

“He hasn’t moved,” Yoongi continued. “Same spot. Same drink. Same expression. Either he’s very patient… or very sure of himself.”

On the other side, Jung Hoseok let out a quiet breath.

“I don’t like him,” he said.

“He’s not reacting like he should. Anyone else would’ve left the moment you noticed them.”

Jungkook’s gaze stayed fixed on Kim Taehyung.

“He looked at me first.”

Yoongi raised a brow slightly.

“So?”

Jungkook’s voice lowered.

“People don’t do that.”

Hoseok smirked faintly.

“Then maybe he doesn’t think like people.”

A pause.

That possibility settled heavier than expected.

Yoongi finally glanced at Jungkook.

“Want him gone?”

Jungkook’s jaw tightened slightly.

“No.”

A beat.

“Bring him.”

**Jungkook’s Private Room**

(the club which belongs to Jungkook)

(just imagine, this is Jungkook's private lounge)

The door opened.

Then closed.

Silence followed.

Taehyung walked in like he wasn’t stepping into danger.

Like this wasn’t the most controlled room in the entire building.

“You called,” Taehyung said casually, eyes landing on Jungkook.

Jungkook—

Didn’t like the tone.

Didn’t like the ease.

Didn’t like him.

“You don’t get to speak first,” Jungkook replied, stepping forward.

Taehyung tilted his head slightly.

“And yet you’re listening.”

Yoongi stepped in before Jungkook could respond.

“Name.”

Taehyung didn’t even look at him.

“You heard it.”

Hoseok let out a quiet laugh.

“Say it again. Properly this time.”

Taehyung’s gaze shifted briefly—measuring them both—before returning to Jungkook.

“Kim Taehyung.”

Yoongi’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“That name doesn’t exist anywhere it should.”

Taehyung’s lips curved faintly.

“Then maybe you’re not looking in the right places.”

Jungkook moved.

Fast.

Grabbing Taehyung by the collar and pulling him closer.

“I don’t like riddles,” Jungkook said quietly, dangerously close.

“Then stop asking questions you don’t understand,” Taehyung replied just as softly.

The room stilled.

Completely.

Hoseok crossed his arms, watching.

“He’s got a mouth on him.”

Yoongi didn’t move, but his tone sharpened.

“And no fear.”

Jungkook’s grip tightened for a second—

Then loosened.

Then disappeared completely.

“Sit.”

Taehyung glanced at the chair.

Then back at him.

“You really like giving orders,” he said.

Jungkook stepped closer again.

“Sit.”

This time, Taehyung sat.

Slowly.

Eyes never leaving Jungkook.

Jungkook stood in front of him, looking down.

“You walked into my territory,” he said. “You got my attention. Now explain why.”

Taehyung leaned back slightly.

“Curiosity.”

Yoongi scoffed.

“That’s not a reason.”

Taehyung turned his head just enough to acknowledge him.

“It is when you’re not afraid of consequences.”

Hoseok stepped forward a little.

“Everyone’s afraid of consequences.”

Taehyung’s gaze flickered.

“Then maybe I’m not everyone.”

Silence again.

Thicker.

Jungkook leaned forward slightly, hands resting on either side of the chair.

Trapping him in without touching.

“You’re either very confident,” Jungkook said, voice low, “or very stupid.”

Taehyung’s lips curved.

“Or maybe you just haven’t figured me out yet.”

That—

That lingered.

Yoongi watched Jungkook carefully.

“Boss, he’s playing with you.”

Taehyung smirked.

“And you’re watching it happen.”

Hoseok chuckled under his breath.

“I kind of like him.”

Jungkook straightened slightly.

His eyes never left Taehyung.

“Who sent you?”

Taehyung didn’t hesitate.

“No one.”

“Wrong answer.”

“Then ask a better question.”

The tension snapped again.

Jungkook’s hand slammed against the armrest beside Taehyung.

Close.

Controlled.

“You’re testing limits you don’t understand,” Jungkook said.

Taehyung didn’t flinch.

“Then explain them.”

Jungkook leaned closer.

Too close.

“I don’t explain myself.”

Taehyung’s voice dropped.

“Then don’t expect me to either."

A long silence followed....

Yoongi finally spoke again, quieter now.

“He’s clean, boss. Nothing on records. No history. No connections.”

That made Jungkook pause.

“Impossible,” he muttered.

Taehyung smiled faintly.

“Maybe I’m just careful.”

Hoseok tilted his head.

“Or maybe you wanted to be found.”

Taehyung didn’t answer that.

Jungkook stepped back this time.

But his gaze stayed locked.

“Stay here” he said.

Taehyung raised a brow.

“Or?”

Jungkook’s voice dropped colder.

“Don’t test it.”

A pause..

Taehyung stood up slowly.

Closing a bit of the distance himself.

“You keep telling me not to test you,” he said quietly.

Jungkook didn’t move.

“Then stop reacting every time I do.”

That landed harder than anything else.

Silence filled the room one last time.

Because now—

It wasn’t just curiosity.

It wasn’t just suspicion.

It was something far more dangerous.

Interest.
