Taken

The silence didn’t fade after his words. It stretched, tightened, and wrapped itself around the room like something waiting to snap.

Kim Taehyung didn’t move. Didn’t look away. Didn’t even blink—as if the tension in front of him wasn’t enough to make most people step back.

“You’re still staring,” Taehyung said slowly, his voice calm but edged with something deliberate.

“At this point, I’m starting to think you either don’t trust yourself… or you’re trying to figure me out and failing.”

Across from him, Jeon Jungkook didn’t react immediately. But his gaze darkened just enough to show he heard every word.

“I’m deciding,” Jungkook replied, tone low, controlled.

Taehyung tilted his head, taking a small step closer.

“Deciding what?” he asked.

“Whether I’m worth the trouble… or whether I’m already too much of it?”

Jungkook’s jaw tightened slightly.

“I’m deciding what to do with you.”

A pause followed. Heavier than before.

Taehyung let out a soft breath that almost sounded like a laugh.

“That sounds serious,” he murmured.

“Should I be worried, or is this where you expect me to start acting afraid?”

Jungkook stepped forward then—slow, controlled, the kind of movement that carried warning without saying it.

“You don’t seem like the type to get afraid.”

Taehyung’s lips curved faintly.

“Maybe I just haven’t met anything worth fearing yet.”

That line landed harder than it should have.

For a second, the air shifted—sharper, heavier.

Jungkook didn’t respond.

He simply turned.

“Get the car ready.”

Behind him, Min Yoongi looked up immediately.

“Right now?” Yoongi asked, eyes narrowing.

“You’re not even going to question—”

“Now.”

The interruption was quiet. Absolute.

Jung Hoseok let out a low chuckle.

“Well… that’s new,” Hoseok muttered.

“Usually people don’t get invited like this.”

Taehyung’s gaze shifted back to Jungkook.

“So I’m being taken somewhere,” he said, not asking—just stating it.

Jungkook looked at him directly.

“You’re coming with me. And this time… it’s not optional.”

A beat passed.

Taehyung didn’t resist. Didn’t argue.

Instead, he stepped forward on his own, brushing past Jungkook as if the decision had always been his.

“Finally,” he murmured.

“I was starting to think you’d keep watching instead of acting.”

Yoongi’s expression tightened.

“He’s too calm.”

Hoseok smirked.

“No,” he said.

“He’s enjoying this.”

The car moved through the city, lights blurring past the windows.

Inside, the silence wasn’t empty—it was alive.

Taehyung leaned back comfortably, like none of this was dangerous.

Hoseok studied him for a moment.

“You know, most people would’ve tried to run by now.”

Taehyung glanced at him, unfazed.

“Most people don’t interest him,” he replied, nodding slightly toward Jungkook.

Yoongi spoke from the front.

“People who act like you usually don’t last long.”

Taehyung’s gaze shifted slightly.

“Then maybe I’m not planning to leave.”

Jungkook finally spoke.

“You won’t.”

Taehyung turned his head toward him.

“Confident,” he murmured.

Jungkook held his gaze.

“Certain.”

The car slowed.

Then stopped.

The gates opened slowly—tall, black, unforgiving.

Taehyung stepped out first, eyes scanning everything without hesitation.

“This is your place?” he asked.

“Feels less like a home… more like a warning.”

Jungkook walked past him.

“It’s both.”

Taehyung followed.

“Good,” he said quietly.

“I don’t like comfort anyway.”

The doors shut behind them.

Click.

Locked.

Taehyung noticed immediately.

“Locked already?” he said lightly.

“You move fast.”

Jungkook stopped in the center and turned.

“From now on, you don’t move without permission.”

Taehyung raised a brow and stepped closer instead of backing away.

“That sounds like control,” he replied.

“Do you always try this hard to keep people from leaving?”

Jungkook’s eyes darkened.

“People don’t leave.”

Taehyung tilted his head.

“Or you don’t let them?”

A pause. Sharp. Dangerous.

Jungkook stepped closer until there was barely space left between them.

“You’re in my world now,” he said quietly.

“That means you follow my rules.”

Taehyung didn’t flinch.

“Then maybe you should make better rules,” he said softly.

“Because I don’t follow things that don’t make sense.”

That was the line.

Jungkook’s hand came down beside him—trapping him without touching.

“You don’t understand where you are.”

Taehyung leaned in slightly.

“Then explain it.”

Jungkook’s voice dropped.

“I don’t explain. I control.”

Taehyung’s lips curved faintly.

“Then control it.”

Silence hit harder than before.

For a second, Jungkook almost reacted—almost lost control.

But instead, he stepped back.

“Yoongi,” he said coldly,

“take him to the guest room.”

The room was large. Quiet. Controlled.

Taehyung stood near the window again, looking out at the distant lights.

The door opened behind him.

Jungkook.

“Do you ever knock?” Taehyung asked without turning.

“No.”

A pause.

Then Jungkook spoke again, quieter this time.

“You’re not normal.”

Taehyung turned slowly.

“And you are?” he asked.

Jungkook ignored that.

“You don’t react like people should,” he continued.

“No fear. No hesitation. No instinct to leave.”

Taehyung stepped closer.

“And that bothers you?” he asked softly.

Jungkook’s eyes locked onto his.

“Yes.”

A pause.

Taehyung’s voice dropped slightly.

“Why?”

Jungkook didn’t answer immediately.

Then—

“Because you make me react.”

Silence.

That wasn’t supposed to be said out loud.

Taehyung held his gaze longer this time.

“Sounds like your problem,” he said quietly.

Jungkook nodded once.

“It is.”

Another pause.

Then he turned.

“Don’t leave this room.”

Taehyung tilted his head.

“And if I do?”

Jungkook stopped at the door.

“Then next time… I won’t be this patient with you.”

The door closed.

Lock clicked.

Taehyung stood there for a moment.

Still.

Thinking.

Then—

A slow smile appeared.

“Now this…” he whispered,

“is getting interesting.”
