Soobin hesitated, the ticket fluttering in Khem's hand. "Why?" he asked, voice barely above a whisper. Khem's smile was laced with longing, "I need you there."
Akira reappeared, phone out, "Guys, I got a great shot. But Soobin, your ride’s here." A sleek car pulled up – Soobin's agent stepped out, "Paris Fashion Week, remember?"
Khem's face fell; Soobin shrugged apologetically. "I have to," he said, turning to leave. Khem called out, "Wait!" – but Soobin was gone, into the night.
The car door swung open; Soobin slid in. Akira hopped in beside him, "Want a distraction?"
A mystery envelope slid onto Soobin's lap. Inside: a location, time, and Khem's scribbled note – "If you come, play this." A guitar pick fell out. 💜
Soobin stared at the envelope, heart racing. Akira nudged him, "Going to play hooky?" Soobin smirked, "Maybe."
Paris Fashion Week whired on, but Soobin's mind was elsewhere. Night fell; Akira dropped him at the address – an abandoned church on Montmartre’s outskirts. Khem waited inside, guitar slong.
The door creaked shut; moonlight streamed in. Khem strung a chord – their song. Soobin’s breath hitched. Khem sang, voice raw, about love and distance.
Soobin stepped in, eyes shining. Khem stopped, heart pounding. Soobin took the guitar, "Let me." Together, they played – off-key, perfect.
The song died; silence pulsed. Khem pulled Soobin close, "I’m sorry. For everything." Soobin whispered, "I’m here."
Akira appeared, camera clicking. Khem dropped to one knee, pulling out a tiny box – a matching silver band. "Partner in art and life?" Soobin nodded, tears streaming.
The church erupted in cheers – Akira’d invited their friends. Khem slid the ring on; Soobin kissed him, deep. 💜
Years later, their art merged – Khem’s music, Soobin’s paintings. Akira’s photos chronicled it all. On their anniversary, Khem handed Soobin a sketch – a church, guitar, crowd. "Re-create it?" Soobin smiled, "With you."
