Episode four:A DANGEROUS YES

Helena’s POV

It was the weekend.

My birthday.

And somehow… it didn’t feel special at all.

I sat quietly on the edge of my bed, staring at my phone like it would magically light up if I looked at it long enough.

Daniel had promised.

“I’ll come pick you up,” he said. “We’ll celebrate properly.”

I believed him.

That was my mistake.

Hours passed slowly.

Painfully.

The sun had already begun to set, casting an orange glow across my room. Still no call. No message. Nothing.

A bitter laugh escaped my lips.

“Of course…”

Why was I even surprised?

Just as I stood up, frustration building inside me, a voice suddenly came from behind me.

“So… you got stood up?”

I turned sharply.

Damon.

Leaning casually against the doorframe, his eyes fixed on me.

My heart skipped.

“Yeah…” I replied quietly, trying to hide how much it hurt.

He stared at me for a moment, his expression softening slightly.

Then—

“Are you down for a mini party?” he asked unexpectedly. “At my favorite place.”

I didn’t think.

“Yes.”

The word slipped out instantly.

A slow smile spread across his lips.

“Good.”

He walked toward me and took my hand.

The moment his fingers touched mine—

An electric spark shot through my body.

My breath hitched.

For a second, everything else faded.

Then reality hit me.

Helena… you have a fiancé.

Even if he was a jerk…

This was wrong.

But somehow…

I didn’t pull away.

At the Club

The moment we stepped inside, I knew this wasn’t just any club.

The lights, the music, the atmosphere—everything screamed wealth and power.

People turned their heads as Damon walked in, whispering among themselves.

He didn’t even look at them.

His focus was on me.

He led me to a VIP lounge—private, luxurious, almost unreal.

Before I could even take it all in, a cake was brought out.

Chocolate.

My favorite.

I blinked in surprise.

“How did you know this is my favorite?” I asked.

He smirked slightly.

“I have my ways.”

Before I could respond, I felt his warm breath near my neck.

“Happy birthday, princess.”

My heart melted instantly.

“Thank you…” I whispered.

He extended his hand toward me.

“Care to give me this dance, my lady?”

I smiled and curtsied playfully.

“My pleasure.”

Damon’s POV

She was breathtaking.

And tonight…

She was mine.

As we danced, her body moved perfectly with mine, like we were meant to be here—together.

I tried to hold back.

Tried to stay in control.

But it was useless.

“I want you,” I said softly.

She looked up at me, confused.

“I want you to be my girlfriend.”

Her eyes widened.

“Damon… I have a fiancé.”

I tilted my head slightly.

“You mean the one who left you alone on your birthday?”

Silence.

I expected anger.

Instead—

She kissed me.

Soft.

Brief.

But powerful enough to shake me completely.

She pulled away, breathing unevenly.

“...Yes,” she said.

“Yes, Damon Blake… I’ll be your girlfriend.”

My heart pounded.

“I don’t mind breaking some rules because of that asshole.”

She hesitated slightly.

“But… I don’t want anyone to know yet.”

My expression darkened.

“Why? Are you ashamed of me?”

“No!” she said quickly. “It’s not like that. I just… need time. I have to end things with Daniel first.”

I studied her.

Then nodded slowly.

“No problem, babe. I got you.”

But deep down…

I knew this wasn’t going to stay a secret for long.

Helena’s POV

After the party, I followed Damon back.

Everything still felt unreal.

Like I was living someone else’s life.

At the entrance, I turned to him.

“I’ll be going to my friend’s place,” I said quickly.

He nodded.

I leaned in and kissed him softly.

Then I left before I could change my mind.

I immediately called Hana and Joyce.

The moment they heard what Daniel did, they exploded.

“We are going to rip that bastard’s throat when we see him!” Hana snapped.

“Exactly!” Joyce added.

“Calm down,” I said, laughing slightly.

After some talking, they insisted I come over.

At their place, things quickly returned to normal—

Gossip.

Laughter.

Drama.

“I heard Damon hasn’t been going to the club lately,” Hana said suddenly.

She and Joyce exchanged looks.

Then together—

“THAT MEANS HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND!”

I almost choked.

I shook my head, trying to stay calm.

“If only you knew…” I thought.

They would never let me breathe if they found out.

Not yet.

After spending time together, I waved goodbye and headed home.

When I got back, something caught my attention.

A meal.

Neatly arranged on the table.

Warm.

Inviting.

Beside it was a note.

I picked it up and read:

Hi babe,

Something urgent came up at the company, so I’ll be out for three days.

Love you ❤️❤️❤️

Don’t miss me too much 😏

A smile spread across my face.

“He’s so annoying…” I muttered softly.

But I liked it.

I really liked it.

I sat down and started eating.

“Hmmm…” I hummed.

“He’s such a good cook.”

For the first time in a long while…

I felt happy.

Truly happy.

After eating, I took a shower and went to bed.

Sleep came almost instantly.

Daniel’s POV

Something wasn’t right.

Helena was acting strange.

If this was before…

If I told her I was busy and couldn’t come for her birthday…

She would have called me non-stop.

Texted me.

Complained.

But now?

Nothing.

No calls.

No messages.

No concern.

I clenched my jaw.

I know I haven’t been the best fiancé.

But still…

She was mine.

And the thought of her being with another man—

It made my chest burn with anger.

“I need to see her,” I muttered.

A slow, dangerous thought crossed my mind.

“A surprise visit…”

Tomorrow.

I’ll go tomorrow.

And when I do…

I’ll find out what she’s hiding.
