Chapter 4 - Crown prince

“Ahem! Layla, I’ve got news to tell you” said father in a serious voice, I looked at him and he said “three months ago you threw a tantrum, saying that you want to marry the eldest prince Leo.” I went through my mind to think of that time, I asked father if he could ask the emperor to declare a marriage for me and the eldest prince. Father rejected and I threw a huge tantrum, I thought he wouldn’t actually ask. But he did cause still loves his daughter, and spoils her even thought he doesn’t show that. I was going to ask if he could cancel the marriage, but if father asks to cancel the marriage then surely the emperor would be affended. So I nodded my head and started eating again. “There’s a banquet tomorrow where the emperor is going to announce the marriage. Get up earlier tomorrow.” Said father, “understood.” I replied in a emotionless voice.

After I finished my breakfast, I got up and greeted them goodbye them left. My personal maid Linda was outside the door, once I came out she followed behind me. I entered my room and sat on my bed, “Would you like some more books from the library today, young miss?” Linda asked me, “Mmm... Sure! Get me some medical books today.” I replied in a soft voice, I would always talk to Linda in a soft and kind voice. She was like a sister to me. Time few by while I read all of the books, it was already dark outside when I finished all the medical books. I heard knocking on my door “come in,” I said, while I turned my eyes to see who it was. It was Linda, she was coming in to get me ready for sleep. After I got ready I went straight to bed, I needed to wake up early in the morning, I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

The next morning couple of maids came in my room, and some had jewelry in there hands. I got up and let them get me ready. After they finished I looked in the mirror, and I was wearing a beautiful dress. Then suddenly I realized it was the dress I designed myself, it’s a mix of ancient Chinese clothing and modern dresses. Linda probably saw this and thought that I really liked it, because this was the dress I spent the most time designing. So she than went to a designer to make it.

“Do you like it young miss?!” Said Linda in a excited voice. “You naughty girl!\~” I said in a teasing voice while I poked her forehead with my finger. “Glad that young miss likes it!” Said Linda with a bright smile on her face. I waked in my room till it was time to go to the banquet, while I was waiting I read some random books lying around in my room, most of them I’ve already read. After 5 hours it was finally time to go, the time was around 4:00 in the evening now. I got in the carriage and sat down across from my mother. She and I were in the same carriage while my brothers and my father were in another. We arrived at the palace. It was huge and really beautiful.

I got down from the carriage, and waited for my mother to come down. We walked in the palace and I tothe ball room, it was also huge with a huge staircase.

once I entered the room everyone had their attention on me. Some were whispering about how arrogant I am, and some were whispering about how pretty my dress was, and who designed it. But I don’t really care about what their whispering about me, they could say what ever they want, it’s not like I can control their annoying mouths. Then the emperor came in the room, he was standing on the top of the stairs with some other people behind him. I could recognize one of them the eldest prince Leo, he also the crown prince. He has dark brown hair and beautiful cyan eyes. The cyan from his eyes looked like the colour of the ocean in Hawaii, his eyes also looked like it was glowing.

(I edited the colour of the eyes a little so please don’t jugde it if it’s bad, same goes with Layla’s eyes I edited it)

The crown prince is about 19-20 years of age. He’s mature, and cold to some people, the Crown prince is also quite cold to Layla, since they were little. Layla would go find Leo and ask to hangout with him. But Leo would always reject.
