Chapter 5 - Heartbroken

Everyone greeted the emperor then people started talking to eachother’s again. I found a seat on a table at the side and sat down, then someone walked up to me “Greetings Young miss Layla.” Said a girl that looked about the same age as me. She has light brownish grey hair, and blue eyes that almost looks like it was purple.

I remembered she was walking behind the emperor and beside the crown prince. “Greetings, Princess Mary.” I replied to her in a polite manner. She looked surprised seeing me being so polite but then she came back to her senses. “Anyways, I wanted to ask who designed your dress. It’s gorgeous!” She asked, and I replied “I designed it myself, I was bored so I came up with it.” After I said that her eyes widened in surprise. “You designed this yourself?!” She asked in surprise, I nodded and said “I could design a dress for you when I have time.” After I that she got excited and started nodding her head crazily.

After a hours of chit chatting with Mary, the emperor was starting to give an announcement. He said he was going to announce a marriage for the crown prince. Everyone started getting curious about who the lucky lady was. But then everyone went silent when they heard the emperor saying the person the crown prince is being engaged to is me, Young miss of the Marlena Family Layla. Then the emperor called me and Leo up to have a dance, so we did what we were asked. Everyone was whispering about us. Once the banquet was over I went home.

(Time skip 2 months in the future)

This was our wedding night, I was sitting on the bed and Leo sitting on his desk reading documents. He looked at me and said in a cold voice, “You don’t have to wait for me, I’m not going to sleep on the bed, so you can go to sleep now.” I then stood up and walked towards his desk, “I want to make this clear to you, I don’t like you anymore so you don’t have to worry about me annoying you.” I said to him in a cold and serious voice, but for some weird reason he looked at me with a surprised and heartbroken look in his eye’s after I said that. “Are you serious?...” he asked me in a voice that sounded a little sad. “Yeah, what? You thought I was joking?” I replied to him in a emotionless voice. he sighed and said “Nevermind,” and after that I went to sleep on the bed.

(And now for the Point of view of Leo)

I was actually quite happy that me and Layla had gotten married. I had a small little crush on her since we were little. Today was our wedding night, I was reading some documents that were on my table. Then I noticed that Layla was still sitting on the huge bed. I wanted to tell her to go to sleep but I didn’t want to make her think I like her, and so I said to her in a cold voice, “You don’t have to wait for me, I’m not going to sleep on the bed, so you can go to sleep now.” She then stood up and walked to my desk, and what she said next made my heart ache, she said “I want to make this clear to you, I don’t like you anymore so you don’t have to worry about me annoying you.” In a cold and serious voice. I asked if she was serious and she said yes... that broke my heart. After she finished talking, she went back to the huge bed across from the doors and slept. Then after half an hour, I finally finished reading the documents it usually doesn’t take this long, but what she said bothered me the whole time. I walked up to the bed and saw Layla sleeping. I kissed her forehead and exited the room.
