CHAPTER 4

Silas helped Caspian by feeding him as Caspian smiled sheepishly, meanwhile Arlo was already at home taking a nap. Mrs. Lane barged into the ward seeing Caspian shirtless.

"Silas, who do you think you are to come in here? You left your Caspian all alone yesterday knowing fully well of the pain he had to go through," Mrs. Lane said, her voice laced with anger.

"Mum, don't yell at Silas, it's not his fault," Caspian intervened, his eyes pleading.

Mrs. Lane cut him off, her words dripping with venom. "It's all his fault. He should have taken good care of you better than being with his fling."

Caspian felt a pang of guilt as Silas' head hung low.

"I'll do better from now, ma," Silas promised.

Mrs. Lane's expression remained unyielding. "You better do, cause I don't want to see my son in pain again. Caspian, let me go get you something to eat."

She stormed out of the room, leaving Caspian and Silas in an awkward silence.

"Love, I'm sorry for the way my mom spoke to you," Caspian said, his voice soft.

Silas offered a reassuring smile. "It's fine, she's just being protective as you're her only son."

Caspian scoffed. "I'm an adult now, she's supposed to respect that."

Silas chuckled. "Yeah, I'll be back, I need to fill forms for your discharge."

"Okay, my omega," Caspian said, his smile returning as Silas left.

"At least I have my omega to myself. I need to look for more ideas so he'll love me more and leave Arlo" Caspian thought to himself.

In the omega's Mansion, Arlo and his sister Mandy were seated.

"What will you do?" Mandy asked, her brow furrowed in concern.

Arlo leaned back in his chair. "That's why I called you here, any ideas?"

Mandy shook her head. "But Arlo, you're supposed to be busy with work but instead you're here fighting rival games with Caspian."

Arlo waved her off. "What does that have to do with what I asked? Besides, I'll resume tomorrow. I'm the boss, I make decisions."

Mandy sighed. "Still, you have investments to make, shareholders to settle but you're here contesting with Caspian."

Arlo's expression turned defensive. "I'm not contesting."

Mandy's eyes sparkled with intrigue. "Focus on your priority and I promise to help you get Silas to yourself."

Arlo raised an eyebrow. "Are you kidding?"

Mandy's face remained serious. "Is there a smile on my face? Of course not, I'm damn serious."

Arlo leaned forward, curiosity piqued. "How?"

Mandy's smile was calculated. "When is his next heat?"

Arlo hesitated. "Uhm, few days from now. What does that have to do with this?"

Mandy's grin widened. "Relax, bro. So who used to help him with his heat?"

Arlo's eyes widened in understanding. "Well, he takes meds and sometimes I do temporary marking on him. But he stopped letting me mark him."

Mandy's voice was low and menacing. "Be prepared."

Arlo's confusion was evident. "For what?"

Mandy's words sent a shiver down Arlo's spine. "Get Silas pregnant. That's the only way."

Arlo's eyes lit up. "Wait, you're hundred percent right. If the child is mine, then Caspian won't bother our little happy family."

Mandy nodded in agreement. "Yeah."

Arlo grinned, a plan forming in his mind. "Thanks sis, you're so smart."

Caspian was successfully discharged as he now settles in Silas' mansion. The next while, Silas was working in his office when he heard a knock. It was Caspian holding a lunch box.

"Hey love," Caspian said, his smile radiant.

Silas looked up from his work. "Caspian, what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be resting?"

Caspian pouted. "I can't, when my omega hasn't eaten. Here, I brought you lunch, baby."

Silas chuckled, taking the lunch box. "Thanks."

In Arlo's office, Mandy was speaking in hushed tones.

"Okay then, I'll give you something to make his heat come early."

Arlo's eyes narrowed. "But what of Caspian? You know he's jobless, always hanging around him. I just don't want any complications."

Mandy's smile was reassuring. "I have a plan."

Arlo raised an eyebrow. "You always do."

Mandy's voice dropped to a whisper. "But this time around, it's dangerous."
