CHAPTER 5

The next evening, Caspian was on his way back home when he felt a grip over his mouth, and everything went black.

Meanwhile, Silas was busy with paperwork in his room. Arlo approached him, a glass of juice in hand.

"Love, here, drink up," Arlo said, his smile charming.

Silas looked up, slightly annoyed. "Thanks, but I'm not thirsty."

Arlo pouted, playing the part. "Still, drink it. I made it just for you."

Silas sighed. "I don't want to. Just drink it instead."

Arlo fake-sobbed, his eyes watering. "So you want to reject what I brought for you?"

Silas rolled his eyes, amused despite himself. "Fine, I'll drink it."

He took the glass and sipped the juice, his expression changing. "You see, but it's tasting somehow..."

Arlo's smile grew wider. "Just drink up, Omega. It's your taste buds playing tricks."

Silas shrugged and drank the rest, his eyes locked on Arlo's. "Thanks."

Arlo's face lit up as he took the empty glass. "Anything for you, love."

With a satisfied smile, Arlo left the office, the glass clipped in his hand.

As Arlo left the room, Silas felt a sudden wave of warmth wash over him. His vision blurred, and his skin tingled with a strange, electric sensation.

Heat crept up his neck, settling in his core. Silas' instincts roared to life, his body preparing for the impending heat.

"No...not now," Silas muttered, trying to fight it.

But it was too late. His mind clouded, his senses heightened, and his body ached with a need he couldn't ignore.

Arlo's eyes locked onto Silas, his gaze burning with possession. He stripped off his clothes, his alpha instincts roaring to life.

Silas, lost in his heat, barely registered Arlo's presence. But when his alpha's skin touched his, he went wild, craving more.

Arlo pinned Silas to the bed, his teeth sinking into the omega's neck. The mark was a primal claim, one that bound Silas to him.

" this isn't Right"

" you'll be in great pain, my Omega, I can't watch you in pain"

Silas screamed, the pain and pleasure blinding. But as Arlo's knot locked them together, the ache began to ease.

Clothes were an afterthought. Arlo stripped them both, mouth never leaving Silas’s skin. Neck, collarbone, the inside of his wrist. Scenting him, marking him. Silas was slick already - heat made sure of that. His thighs were wet with it, and when Arlo pressed two fingers inside, Silas cried out and arched, body taking him easily. Made for this. Made for Arlo.

Arlo lined up and pushed in slow. Not because he wanted to. Because if he didn’t, he’d hurt Silas. The first stretch always bordered on too much, even when an omega was in heat. Silas whimpered, nails biting into Arlo’s shoulders, but he lifted his hips. _Take more. Take all._

So Arlo did.

He set a rhythm that was deep and claiming. The nest smelled like sex and salt and Silas’s heat-sweet scent. Every thrust punched a broken sound out of Silas. Every time Silas tightened around him, Arlo’s control slipped another notch.

“Arlo,” Silas sobbed, trembling. “It’s-- I can feel--”

“I know,” Arlo grit out. He could feel it too. The base of his cock swelling, thickening. The knot. Biology taking over, locking them together so his seed wouldn’t be wasted. So Silas would take.

When it caught, Silas screamed. The stretch burned, forced him open wider than before. Arlo pinned his wrists and held him still through it, hips grinding flush as the knot seated fully. Then he came.

Silas felt every pulse. Hot, deep, painting his insides. His womb, his heat - all of him designed to catch and keep it. He shook with it, overfull and keening, while Arlo mouthed at his neck and rutted in small, helpless moves. Locked together.

“Mine,” Arlo said against his gland. Not a question. A truth. “You’re mine, Silas.”

Silas could only nod, tears slipping sideways into the blankets. The knot would hold for a long while yet. Long enough for biology to do what it was made for.

Arlo didn’t let go. He shifted them carefully, settling Silas against his chest, one hand splayed low on his belly. Purring started in Arlo’s chest - involuntary, possessive. The sound vibrated through Silas and made him shiver.

“Rest,” Arlo murmured. “I’ve got you.”
