WHERE THE LIGHT STAYS (MORNING LIGHT)

I know I've not being updating but I've realized that there was something missing I haven't really got but let me try to see if I can improve in time I hope you like it thank you so much🙇‍♀️

...****************...

Morning doesn’t arrive all at once.

It slips in.

Soft.

Uninvited.

...------------------------------------...

Jungkook wakes before he realizes he’s awake.

There’s no clear moment—just a slow awareness of light pressing gently against his eyes, the faint warmth of it settling across his face.

For a second, he doesn’t move.

Doesn’t think.

Then—

he remembers.

The room.

The quiet.

The fact that—

he’s not in his own bed.

Jungkook’s eyes open.

Slowly.

Taehyung’s room is brighter in the morning.

The curtains aren’t fully closed, and sunlight spills through the gap, stretching across the floor, the wall~

the bed.

Jungkook shifts slightly.

Careful.

He’s still sitting where he was.

Or… mostly.

Leaning back now, shoulder against the headboard.

At some point, he must’ve drifted.

He doesn’t remember when.

Taehyung is still there.

Asleep.

On his side again.

Facing him.

Jungkook’s breath stills for half a second.

He doesn’t move.

Not right away.

There’s something different about Taehyung like this.

Quieter.

Less… deliberate.

His hair falls loosely across his forehead, slightly out of place. One hand rests near his face, fingers relaxed, unmoving.

No tension.

No awareness.

Jungkook watches.

He shouldn’t.

But there’s no one here to notice.

The silence stretches.

Soft this time.

Not heavy.

Jungkook’s gaze lingers longer than it should.

Tracing small things—

the way Taehyung’s breathing stays even,

the faint crease in the pillow beneath his cheek,

the way the light shifts slowly across his skin.

Something settles in his chest.

Not sharp.

Not overwhelming.

Just… there.

He exhales quietly.

And that’s when Taehyung moves.

Barely

A small shift—his fingers flex slightly, his head tilting just enough—

then stillness again.

Jungkook straightens a little.

Like he’s been caught.

Taehyung’s eyes open.

Not suddenly.

Not startled.

Just… aware.

For a moment, neither of them speaks.

Taehyung blinks once.

Slow.

Taking in the light.

Then—

Jungkook.

“You stayed.”

His voice is rough with sleep.

Low.

Unfiltered.

Jungkook looks away.

Just slightly.

“…You said to.”

A pause.

Taehyung watches him.

There’s something quieter in his expression now.

Less guarded.

“I didn’t think you would.”

Jungkook doesn’t answer.

Because he didn’t think so either.

The silence stretches again.

But it doesn’t press.

It… lingers.

Taehyung shifts, pushing himself up slowly until he’s sitting, the blanket falling loosely around him.

He doesn’t seem in a hurry to fix it.

Jungkook notices that.

Of course he does.

“You look like you didn’t sleep much,” Taehyung says.

Jungkook lets out a small breath.

“…I didn’t.”

Taehyung tilts his head slightly.

“Because of me?”

The question is soft.

Not teasing.

Not light.

Jungkook’s jaw tightens.

He could lie.

He doesn’t.

“…Yeah.”

The word sits between them.

Simple.

Heavy.

"Okay"

That's all he says

But that's enough

Jungkook glances at him again.

Something about the way Taehyung accepts it—

doesn’t push, doesn’t react—

makes it harder to breathe than if he had.

“You don’t seem surprised,” Jungkook says.

Taehyung shrugs lightly.

“I noticed.”

Of course he did.

A faint shift in the air.

Jungkook leans back slightly, trying to put distance where there isn’t much.

“What do you want from me?” he asks.

The question comes out quieter than he intended.

Taehyung doesn’t answer immediately.

He looks down for a second.

Then back up.

“I’m not asking for anything.”

Jungkook frowns.

“That’s not true.”

Another pause.

Taehyung studies him.

Carefully.

“Then stop thinking of it like that,” he says.

Jungkook’s gaze flickers.

“Like what.”

“Like something you have to control.”

The word lands.

Control.

Jungkook’s fingers curl slightly again.

“That’s how things work,” he says.

“For you,” Taehyung replies.

A beat.

“Not everything has to.”

Silence.

Jungkook looks at him—

really looks—

like he’s trying to understand something that doesn’t follow his rules.

“You’re not making this easy.”

Taehyung’s lips curve faintly.

“Was I supposed to?”

Jungkook exhales.

Slow.

“No.”

Another pause.

Then—

something softer.

Quieter.

“Stay,” Taehyung says again.

Not as a command.

Not as a test.

Just… an option.

Jungkook hesitates.

Then—

he doesn’t move away.

For once, Jungkook doesn’t try to take control of the moment—

and realizes that maybe…

that’s why he can’t walk away from it.
